I feel like I would just deal with it for 4-5 years and give yourself the financial freedom. Then again when you’re young I think you should explore and adventure. Figure out what you like and who you are.

I hope she watches this video in the future, and realizes how judgmental and immature she comes across. There is nothing wrong with someone asking about your major, your goals, or your hopes and dreams. Ridiculous video.

I wonder why this video doesn't have more views. She talks about being in school toward the end, but right here she's the professor, teaching us about the basics of startups and how it fits into your life and affects your goals. Her advice is both practical and philosophical. And the part about pursuing acting was quite a 360! What is she doing now? I wouldn't be surprised if she was on Netflx...or started a new streaming platform!

This is so well-produced. You really capture her essence through your interaction and through the offshots. She has a wonderful, open vibe that is refreshing coming from a CS student, and you portray that perfectly.

Keep one's FT job while doing one's dream, low-paying job on the side for whatever that means for happiness. Do this for seven years, be financially secure, then do whatever makes one happy without financial pressure. Seven years out of 50+ in one's life. Think about it.

This guy described how I feel dropping my engineering degree for the sake of my mental health. Yup people treat you differently... But at the end of the day it's your life to live, they are not going to live your struggle doing something that doesn't work for you, but looks good to them. Live your life, don't kill yourself trying to stay in people's good graces in the process.

Let me start off by congratulating you on your decision to pursue your dream. I will soon turn 31 and this is going to be the most transformative period of my life. As a millennial, I was promised that if I worked hard enough and put in the time and effort, that I'd be rewarded with a good life. Quickly into my professional life, I realized this would never be the case. I was also relentlessly belittled by my boomer bosses who attributed my lack of success to laziness, as it was too beyond them to admit that the company was not paying me a fair salary that would afford me a decent life. I had to room-hop and live with different people, out of my suitcase, for 5,5 years. About 2,5 years ago, things started improving when I landed a tech job doing what I love - creating written content of all kinds. Fast-forward to today - I've just been laid off from my fully-remote, highly-paid content marketing specialist position at this B2B SaaS company. I live in the Netherlands so I get to collect unemployment benefits for up to 8 months. I plan to do so and to use this time to focus on my health, my family, and my friends. With spring and summer just around the corner, I can only find reasons to embrace being free from employment. Once this period ends, I intend to look at my options to work with people and be out in nature. I've decided that life it too short to be spent behind a computer screen, and that it is time for my lifelong love of nature to be turned into a profession. I am content with just cleaning up parks - spending the maximum amount of time I can being out and about and close to nature - this is the new goal. Money is surely an important factor, but I am done sacrificing my mental well-being to collect a decent-ish paycheck. Even if I got double the money tomorrow, I'd still refuse the offer. There is no price that can be placed on my freedom! I wish you and everyone else reading this to find meaning in life and to do what y'all love! Hugs and kisses!
