I suppose really, the reason son of dork never really took off because the sound was inauthentic to the band itself. James Bourne, clearly inspired by the pop punk bands of the US and want to emulate that sound and song writing to himself after Busted split up, which is a noble effort, but it just looks like a veneer to what's actually not there. James would never have experienced anything this song is about. It's pure fantasy. Which is what he wanted. To be in a pop punk band.

The fact that this masterpiece was going to be released as a single and it was cancelled :( It could be the salvation of this era. She was criminally underrated. Such a shame the albums are not available on Spotify.

This is a long shot…since it’s been like 15 years…but there was a song that I’m pretty sure James sang about how his best friend cheated with his girl and he was like singing the song to the friend and I can’t remember this song and was hoping someone on the internet could help.

The whole lyrical concept of the song is so wrong for being way too self-flagellating. It's ambivalently sad though: the melody is energetic hehe ❤ Cool
