Hey mate, as the writer of the song I can tell you there is no theological bias here. I'm a born and bred Catholic, went to catholic school, college and university, and my family is till very much involved with the church. This song is a story of how I and my family grew up in the catholic church and the monks and nuns would physically, emotionally and SA abuse the children. They would then gaslight the kids into believe they were at fault and sinful thus making them pray on the rosary to Mary for salvation. Only for the abuse to continue. Its a deeply personal story. It's a story told from a personal perspective of a truth at the time. There is general abuse across all denominations, ours just happened to be in a Catholic one. Thank you for taking the time to seek the truth when alot of people have jumped to conclusion

@@PaddyW106 I am sorry for the abuse you and people you knew suffered. I of course did not know that and am grateful you have been able to find an outlet for that pain as well as (and more importantly) remain a person of faith. I personally am recently converted to the Anglican and church have never suffered any sort of abuse but have grown to appreciate aspects of the Catholic Church in liturgy so my assumption was only based on a few lines. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to a total stranger when you did not have to.
