Zorin just looks too good. A lot better than windows in my opinion. It has that modern feel.

I just installed Zorin on an old W10 laptop. I had stopped using it because it was just too slow. It's running way better than my W11 Ryzen 7 laptop should. I think it's the right time to switch to Linux

This KDE desktop is incredible. I have indexed My entire Home Directory in KRunner, now, all I have to do is start typing on the desktop and whatever I'm looking for comes up immediately, be that a file or a program, for example to launch Steam, all I have to do is type ST and hit enter and Steam Launches. Windows has a similar function, but it decides to show Useless Web Searches and Help Documentation instead of the Actual thing I'm looking for. What this means is, once your system is set up with programs installed, KDE is actually Easier to use than Windows. Incredible

Interestingly, if the software center feels snappy even without animations to cover up loading times, it can be fast with them too :)

Been a Mint user for at least ten years. Used it as dual boot with windows 7 on my crappy netbook. Mint Xfce is really responsive for my 4-core intel with 4g ram netbook. Netbook broke not because of overheating. The screen pixel died. So, Mom gave her crappy netbook. 4 core amd with 2gb of usable ram because the other 2gb is used for graphics rendering. Installed Mint XFCE 20.1 on it but everything jittery with overheat. Tried Mint Mate but the results are the same. But I love Mint Update Manager and other pre-installed apps by the Mint team. The solution was to install LXDE. Customize defaults Lxsession with Caja File Manager as desktop manager and Xfwm4 as window manager. And I also increase the swapfile size. Love it. Even use it at work until I gave it to my niece who can't afford a laptop.

Hi can Mint XFCE revive my old and very slow win 10 LENOVO C345 fitted with the worst cpu ever built by AMD which is AMD E1 1200 processor ?

This installs nicely on an older Intel Mac Mini. Picks up hardware including wifi from the start.

13:30 Can you add the 'App list' applet to the top panel instead of the dock? (That's how I'm using Pop OS right now, using the dock-to-panel Gnome extension.) That would be a reason to disable the bottom dock.

Pop OS locks all your files as Read only so you can't move or save them in a them or back them up on a usb drive and if you go to root and change them pop os won't start after you log out so I took it off my computer now I'm trying Stormo

The reason why the global menu is not working, is because the developers missed defining it in /etc/environment. I guess it will be fixed pretty soon. My point is there's nothing wrong with the user settings.

i tried it out on my laptop. took quite a while to build the project but it looks good so far. dimming of screen and keyboard in percent increments is interesting. when keyboard shortcuts are available then it could already be usable. i always try to switch windows with alt + tab, which does nothing 😀

Can't say nothing bad, except that i hate gnome, and i had to install kde later, a part from this, nvida driver on my laptop got MANY issue, but i fixed it. The point is, all ppl claim is stable and good, but at least for my experience, and for my hardware on 3 machine manjaro gave me zero probs, compared to Fedora
