I’m an industrial mechanic, and we have a saying- “We make engineers look good.” The only good engineers out there are the ones who also have hands-on experience in their field. It’s cute to see the others act like they are so smart.

Allows for computer controlled dimensions while allowing for manual fabrication. It also, if done correctly, can prevent similar parts from accidentally being switched in location. It only has 2 negatives: 1. More design time and cut time, though it can drastically reduce overall fabrication time. 2. Leaks or backwelds, there is an additional weld that can be used on the backside, but that means you either need to grind flat or allow for a bead, otherwise you will have a place for water to collect and you’ll get rust lines on the finished product.

^This guy knows what he's talking about! Yep, it's a bit more design time, but can save hundreds of hours in layout time, especially in a production run.

0:19 looks like 3/4 inch max in the video imo. I'd guess more along the lines of 1/2 inch. Could also be metric, 16mm maybe.

I am appreciating the education from these videos. It helps me not feel intimidated by the process to design and order. On that note I have not yet mastered fusion 360 to submit designs and wonder if it is worthwhile to make a video on how to submit mechanical drawings .(made with a drawing machine on paper) Love you too!

Great factory tour. I bought 1/2" thick steel rectangles with 40% of a circle cut out of them from you. The entire process was so easy and professionally done. I do wonder how much fun your employees have guessing what they are making is for.

So just to be clear, nesting/stacking/combining parts doesn’t really save any money, it’s just about how long it takes to cut? So total line length is the only thing you really have to consider? I had a project a while ago that had 9 similar-but-not-duplicate polycarbonate parts and I was really pleasantly surprised to find that combining them all into one file only changed the price by like $0.20 Love your service and love your prices! Please never change
@sendcutsend
@sendcutsend 2 күн бұрын
@@aaronec2121 Yep! We handle all of that for you. We calculate our prices assuming that we’ll be able to nest everything together, usually with other customer’s parts too. We assume an ideal scrap rate and make sure that you’re not charged for excess waste 🫡
