great video pal, keep trying for that koi , you'll get it. also the canal seemed like it had been churned up a little, not the usual clear water. It's great to see the fish thriving once again, since it got netted a few year ago.

For many years a tench that size was the only one I'd ever caught! I remember it well from my childhood. Took me until I was 50 to catch another, about 6 pounds ish I would say.

@@Deeroncam I was thinking of taking my dad to a local lake that has some tench this week as it happens! Not big ones, but I've always rather liked them, would be nice to catch a few more. There;s another lake nearby that does have big tench, but it's a fairly pricey ticket and a big carp venue really. Those guys always think I'm weird when I turn up with my 1970s kit and a tub of worms from the lawn :) But then I'm after fun, not specimens!

first off, tench not a golden tench, why didnt you just use net to put fish back? and not a silver bream but a common bream, your joy for catching them is great to see but your animal welfare awareness is shocking, get a book on fish and learn about them, oh and a mat would help👍 tight lines

the edges are filled with long underwater grass didn’t want him getting stuck .i should have looked further down the canal for the safer return lesson learned. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Im guessing you're fairly new to the sport, It's great your getting out fishing and catching some great fish but please treat yourself to a small unhooking mat and try to return bigger fish using the landing net mate. Other than that, top work.

You could always use your landing net to return the bigger fish safely if the waters edge is out of reach. Otherwise very nicley done! New sub❤

There's no need to put your fingers (or thumbs) into their mouths. And return the fish more gently, rather than lobbing them in.

Its give me more control for the time I film them they can be quite slimey , I would have placed him in but the edges have thick grass so didn’t want him getting stuck on top . For sure to find a better spot next time

@@KingA-fz5sk I pre baited the area and used 2-3 worms and 2 maggots to cap the worms on . The hook was sat on the bottom of the canal (6ft ish) and that got them. I’ve got a previous video and I caught a few more on that type of way.

@@Deeroncam just two. Use a fish mat, and hold the fish lower to the ground. Otherwise keep going learn and do give up

@@stuartnewman6968 I have recently got a good fish mat but I didn’t the fish would be big enough (I was wrong) I will use it next time for sure! Always try to be quick to get them back in with no harm. Hate it when I’m messing around trying to get them on camera poor sods but thank you!
