Turbo in old car start leaking engine oil a little bit . Often intake hose is oily. It's just acceptable no need to worry much .

I still found the engine oil on the left side of the car and at the bottom in the air hose that connects the turbo radiator please the turbo - is it broken and spewing oil through the air hose or what? Thank you in advance for the reply

Such a cheap move to make them plastic gears. Especially something that is unreachable in some cars without removing the dash.

I gave my car to the mechanic. Vw passat b7 2012 to change turbocharger, but after changing the turbo, my car misfires and won't move, and when acceleration, then noise. Mechanic tries to find a problem, but he can't find he told me he checks everything like leakage sparkplugs, all things that need to be checked for misfire, but he can't find anything. He does diagnostic, and there also shows no problem, but the car won't move, and noise when acceleration

It can be changed. You have to have the turbo rebuilt to do it. If you want to see that, look at the Area Diesel Service channel and their turbo rebuild videos.

What would cause a once working wastegate to stop opening all of a sudden after induction/boost?

The actuator loosened from the temperatures expanding the hole for it. It works as a door. Once that hole opens up more then what it is , there’s no resistance. Allowing the waste gate to stay open just the slightest. Causing a major boost leak

1 Mechanical failure: The wastegate actuator or linkage could be stuck seized, wastegate flap/valve itself could be stuck or jammed, not allowing it to move freely. 2 Electrical/control system issue: A problem with the wastegate control solenoid, wiring, or ECU programming could prevent the wastegate from receiving the proper signal to open. A boost pressure sensor or other related sensor failure could cause the ECU to not command the wastegate to open correctly. 3 Boost system leaks: A boost system leak, such as a cracked intercooler or hose, could reduce the boost pressure and the need for the wastegate to open. This could trick the ECU into thinking the wastegate doesn't need to open. 4 Clogged/restricted exhaust: If the exhaust system becomes clogged or restricted, it can increase the backpressure and prevent the wastegate from opening properly. 5Wastegate spring failure: The wastegate spring that helps pull the flap open could be broken or weakened, not providing enough force to open the wastegate.

A friend of mine had no oil in their 2009 Buick Lucerne with 175000 miles and drove it for a an entire hour. Was screaming at them the whole time. They put oil in it. Is it still good? They said it sounds fine now but worried its gonna give out any moment now.

The dipstick only measures the top quart in a 4 or 5 quart sump, so even if it's at the bottom of the dipstick, the engine is probably fine.

Don't open that hood if its smoking, i changed my valve cover gasket but not gromets, was leakin like crazy from a few of em, it was smokin bad on the drive to Autozone, billowing out from under the hood, hearing the sizzle, and as soon as I opened hood, two spots on side burst in flames, I dumped a whole Big Gulp on it, only lasted a few seconds, scared the 💩 out of me though, just an advisory

Can bad seals in turbo cause a puff of rather white smoke when gas pedal is released? There is no smoke when accelerating. Only when deceleraring after hard and long acceleration. I cant see any oil nor antifreeze level drop

I have the same problem. It only smokes occasionally not every time I slow down. Also not always after hard acceleration. My car is also de-catted.

@@johnnym6700 in my case the problem was the pcv. Changed for a new one with different rev. And the problem is gone for now

Mine is currently light blue with water coming from exhaust with a gargle sound on left pipe making 3 cylinder no fire 🔥
