One of the funniest scenes from this show in my opinion. I still laugh hysterically when he pushes in his chair, hits the table which knocks over the water. This was after all the clumsy chaos he started moments ago, small detail but I find it hilarious.

The show was failing miserably and would have been cancelled after the first season until, by a wonderful stroke of luck, Urkel was introduced in episode 12. The producers saw very quickly how the audience loved this kid and they saw that Jaleel was a naturally gifted actor and funny as hell. They rewrote the rest of season one to include Urkel and the ratings became good and of course the show got renewed for many more seasons! Not bad for a tiny 13-year old kid :)

Laura tells Steve that ths is a non date. So, the kiss she gives him must have been a non kiss. This is the earliest example of Laura contradicting herself. Why did she agree to go with him in the first place? Laura, you never fooled anybody!

She went only so Eddie would get his concert tickets back after Steve tutors Eddie in Algebra. I think Steve and Laura's friendship was getting started here, and we already knew Steve wanted only her romantically even at a young age. People like to say young teens don't know what they want, but I am sure there are some adults who found their soulmate as teens and waited for them then got married as adults. Every time she tells Steve she will never feel the feelings he feels for her, she knows deep down she does but can't admit it her to herself for ages. It would take a long time to process her feelings and understand how deeply he loves her and cares about her. Only once she admits she wants more from him, then she falls in love hard and like a ton of bricks. I could tell she was completely in love with him when he declares his love for her after he & Myra are over the way she looks at him (and had been for some time).

This is when Steve was naturally hilarious. He was so young and small, his voice was perfect, and he was just a side character, at this point. I wish he could've stayed like this throughout the whole series. It would've made the show a lot better, down the line. Just my opinion, though.
