When teaching letters before the child writes, use sand paper letters. CUT LETTERS OUT OF SANDPAPER AND TEACH STROKE ORDER WITH THESE LETTERS. They will not write letters backwardm because they will learn by touch.

So many of those I used as well until finally finding Denison, it has been so great!

Thank you for sharing all this! I’ve got Denison on my radar for my special needs kids when they get to pre algebra! So I wasn’t sure what I was going to do for my first grader and debated between continuing with Math With Confidence or try Apologia Math. For now decided to continue with MWC only because my child did so well with it and it seems to teach in a good way that worked very well for my child. I agree with the teacher guide though being overwhelming and frustrating at times!🤪 My fall back is Apologia Math if MWC becomes so overwhelming I can’t keep up. In a couple months will be having a C-section for baby #6!

Great video. I had received this at a homeschool swap and was mind boggled on how to use and I never did. Long story short, my youngest 6th grader needs work on spelling so I'm circling right around to this 11 years later. At the beginning of summer, I sat down and read through the "quick start", took notes, and just read all the instructions. It's been a few months now and I'm looking at this program thinking how did this all work again? Ugh. The quick start is NOT quick. The terms are not fitting ,in my opinion, to remember and it's super complicated. I've watched several videos on how to use and each one tells how they use it, NOT how the program actually works. I just needed a refresher and was hoping I didn't have to drudge through the instructions again lol. Many seem to just use the program for the word list. That's great and all but I remembered there was a reason for the madness lol. I'll adapt later but I would like to know how the actual program works. Your video actually explained how the program works so thank you.

Girl, you are gonna love it!! We went on our first BIG road trip in 2021. It was the best trip I have ever been on and we travel quite a bit. The parks usually have activity packs for the kids & Rocky Mountain National Park gives out pins if you complete the packet. Also, you can get a stamp book to have stamped at each of the parks. :)

I've been using TGTB math for years now. This last year was the first time I just used their free PDF. I printed the papers at home and bound them with comb binding. I was able to separate by units, so the book wasn't as big. It saved me a lot of money, including shipping. I purchased the Mental Math locally as well. We love their math program! I'll be doing it again this next year too. I'm not a fan of their language arts, so we don't use that.
