There's no monkey Man 2. He died. And it would ruin the meaning of the story .if you don't know the lore, ridiculous question.

I already commented on your FB, but my main question is...do I really need to watch X and Pearl before watching this? It looks like the story stands on its own. I do plan to watch this at home when I can stream it for $6 or $7 bucks.

I haven't seen this one yet, but I would guess you definitely don't. The connections between X and Pearl is very loose. If I hadn't been told that there was a connection, I wouldn't have even noticed it.

You don't really need to watch the first 2 to watch this. It is a strange "trilogy" since Mia Goth plays the same character, but the stories are not really linked together. It is basically the character Pearl/Maxxxine in different story lines.

I"m a bit confused about the timeline. The director, Fede Alvarez, stated that Romulus takes place between the first (1979) and second (1986) Alien movies. It doesn't really matter to me. Looks like it's worth seeing.

This looks good and I"ll watch it, but it will be more of the same. I'm afraid nothing new in the new story plot. I think this will be enjoyed more by the younger generations who aren't as familiar with this franchise. I remember seeing the original on HBO when I was in grade school! Terrifying!

Great insight. According to the director, Fede Alvarez, he said something similar about people who aren't familiar with the franchise. Apparently, the movie was crafted with "new" viewers in mind, i.e., people who have not seen any of the previous Alien movies.

This third movie looks interesting. I understand your point about how the military could/should be involved, but I'll reserve my opinion until I let the movie tell the story. I will definitely see this movie.

Looks good but definitely a stream at home movie for me. All of the possession movie seem the same now. The voice, bend over backwards with the neck and back cracks! Lol. But I’ll watch it as I’m a sucker for horror movies.

Regarding the G-cells in Noriko (confirmred by the director). Given the extensive trauma she sustained in the blast, she should have been reduced to jello but looked remarkably well except for the left eye patch. If she would have been a hybrid, her regenerated parts would look more Godzilla-like, but she looked like herself. The cells creeping up her neck were on the same side of her damaged left eye which suggest they would heal that remaining damage. I suggest that G-cells only have regenerative powers but not create a hybrid organism like Biollante. Also some of the 30,000 injured people may also have undergone regeneration

That's a great bit of info and possible hint at how the next movie may play out--all of those people could have gotten infected and are now a super army of humans who cannot be killed (easily). I wonder if they are possibly setting up a new "tribe" which worships the Kaiju? -Dane ✌

I also liked it. Buut had a few picks too 😆 JR said the soap opera acting nailed it. I know thats a cultural acting difference thing, but it was very overall dramatic acting. That I also found a little boring . Aaaand I doooo, as an English speaking American, appreciate when the movies are dubbed over well, and this one was. The voice overs were not as ridiculous sounding as some others. 😂 And another thing I really liked about the movie you guys mentioned...even tho I am still a huge fan of prop work... was the CGI!. They did an AMAZING job on the CGI. That was very impressive for me to not see flaws in that, but only the fantastic graphics. I did notice the neck growth at the end right away... but I guess a girl would find the G Cell on the first time ;) 😊😂😮 ~Holly

Hee, hee! Thanks for the feedback. With Toho kicking off a new set of Godzilla movies, we should be in for a fun ride over the next few years. Hopefully, they'll get that 8 months of CGI down to a more reasonable timeframe so they can release the next one soon. Since it made $115million+ in the box office, we know it's coming! And I agree, if you check the names out, they used either experienced actors or anime voice folks which really paid off. Thanks for the comments. -Dane ✌

I was floored by it, but then watched it again in theatres after I had refreshed my viewing of Fury Road, and I can definitely see where it faltered where Fury Road excelled. I still think it is an great movie, and I stand by my incredible experience I had in the theatres. (Top 3 of all time) So there's that to be said. It's still leagues above most action films. And I appreciated Chris Hemsworths performance even more the 2nd time.

I’m pretty much in line with your reviews. I think 75 to 85% range is fair. I loved the character development and plot to set up future movies. I would have given it a higher score if they cut 30 minutes out to shorten it and if it had gad more action. It was a bit slow for me. I give it 8.0…

I do agree with wanting to know more... I knew it was about the journalists covering this major event in history, but thought I was overall, watching a movie ABOUT the Civil War. I really needed more clarity and background as to how this all started to really be able to enjoy it, I think. I felt some of the scenes were annoyingly and unnecessarily too long, even for art...(omg the helicopters) I really think had it focused just a little more on the actual event(s) being covered and not so much what I felt as dead "filler" while traveling, arguing about who is going to travel, standing around, sleeping, walking... all while not even giving me really as much as I'd like to have in their dialog as far as character development and THE background, it could have been much better. I did feel some of that heaviness & strong emotions they had toward certain things at times, but it was just harder to relate to, not knowing the full story, of anything, for me anyway. Overall, I appreciated the good acting, & the selflessness of the story... but its not something I fully enjoyed, would recommend, or ever watch again lol

We watched this over the weekend. I found the first half of the movie very slow but knowing the action was coming at some point…I hung in there. Once the action finally started…it was enjoyable. It had a few twists but I found it predictable. I can’t recommend this one but if you don’t have anything better to do…it is something to kill a hour or two. I’ll give this 6.5.

So I watched this Friday with my wife then again Sunday with some friends that came over. JLo was somewhat annoying but she grows on you. Smith was the best actor in this film and the relationship between him and Atlas draws you in over the course of the movie. The plot isn’t new…has that Terminator feel to it. All the SyFy stuff was really cool and I can totally see a lot of it happening in the near future. The AI / robot threat is real. People push for machines to do more and giving them the power to make decisions for us. I find it scary. Overall we really liked this movie. I’ll give it 8.2.

Thank you for the commentary. This is very helpful. I did get a sense from the trailer that JLo's character seemed a bit "weak" in the earlier portions of the film. Thanks to you, I will now go see it in a more appropriate frame of mind.

At the beginning of the movie, J.Lo's character(Atlas) was described as "rigid, hostile, and anti social". I think she played the part perfectly:) Meeting Smith was a turning point in her life. And her character developed. Overall it was a great movie, so much fun to watch.

Thanks for stopping by and sharing your comment. We do 2 types of videos on our channel, Movie Reviews and Trailer Reactions. The movie reviews you will see are longer, more thought out and researched. The Trailer Reactions are not. We tape 1 day a week and we will have a list of 20 trailers that we go through cold and just react. So, we don't have the time to research them. Maybe if we did this full time, but this is just a fun hobby. By the way, which one of us was your dad and which one was your uncle? I have to say that did make me LOL! We need someone to make "Rebel Moon: The Wheat Cut" that's only scenes about wheat. I wonder how long it'll be. I feel like Rebel Moon is a lot of Zach making "moments", often highlighted by slow motion, and a movie was made around them. There are some interesting ideas and characters but the movie doesn't feel coherent and or compelling. I'll give the R-rated versions a try, but I am not holding my breath. Nemesis was one character I felt may be interesting relative to the others (which granted isn't saying much) but she was the one killed off. Speaking of the princess when she died, you'd think the people around her in that scene would have been surprised or say something when she started glowing as she died. No one seems to react to that and it gets glossed over.

There has actually been 4 Crow movies and a tv series. The dude ya showed from John Wich was Mark Dacoscos from the TV series. Part 2 isn’t thaaaaat bad, but 3, (especially)4 and the series were TERRIBLE. I’m hoping this new one is something different and cool. I’m glad they are just copying Brandon’s look or movie, honestly. That one is untouchable, but there’s been a dozen comics & novels with ‘other’ Crows, so I hope this feels like that. 🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛🐦‍⬛
