Ive damaged that ribbon cable before too, I think it happens to most ppl who crack these open for the 1st time. Not sure i'd run jumpers long term tho, id find a parts board to grab those 0 resistors from.

I do believe you're correct. I think I nicked that cable when poking around for a clip. As for those jumpers, I've got some resistors on the way from China, so we'll see it back on the operating table again in the future. I definitely agree with not doing that as a long term solution though - it's somewhat akin to replacing a fuse with a nail.

hey! I was having the same issue, and found this video super helpful! the belt, and the mechanism it spins on were fine in my vaccuum--but the horrible screeching noise remains! Would you recommend some oil on the mechanism that spins the cylindrical brush? this vaccuum sucks, but i don't want to toss it since it isn't that old!

Thanks for watching, and glad I could provide some (limited) help. There's a second video where I fix the warranty replacement vacuum that was sent out (and broke three months later... so, yeah, these are not great vacuums). kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iaxpmtWdncXSkZs.html Not sure if I'd recommend the oil, as that may just end up getting all gummy once it starts incorporating itself with dirt. But, one thing I'd recommend checking is the condition of the mating surfaces on the roller. I had to end up filing down some bumps and nicks on the surface of that second vacuum for a similar reason iirc. Also, do a sanity check to make sure all hair is cleaned off, as it's easy to miss some on the end of the roller. Lastly, the default belt that comes with the vacuum does seem to be quite loose. I even ordered some replacements thinking it was worn out, but... yeah, those belts were also loose. If you have some heavy duty tape (this is not a permanent fix), you can try winding some around the roller so that the belt fits more snugly. If that eliminates the noise, you can try getting a belt that's maybe a few mm shorter? But, yeah, I got this vacuum for free and I feel ripped off... I hope this helps you though.

Hello guys, please can you tell me what kind of value is the WR 644 resistor, located next to the chip, because although so carefully I tried to put the clamps on the chip a couple of times because it was failing to read it, but I managed by mistake to undo the resistor there and never found it again. It's extremely small. Thank you!!!

This was a very enjoyable to watch. I myself have opened up 2 ps3 all the way apart to clean and replace the thermal paste. I have a 2nd hand Xbox 360E that I want to disassemble, clean and apply new thermal paste. I also got a PS4 slim recently from a pawn shop to do same procedures. I laughed when you said wooden fork when it was clearly a knife. lol

Only some of the slims had the 4GB flash included. The NAND size varied as well (matters if you do the RGH3 mod). I bought 3 or 4 from eBay last year and I think only one of them had the internal flash storage. Luckily they just use standard 2.5" SATA drives, and you can 3D print an enclosure for using your own drives as well. Plus you can plug in a FAT32 flash drive. I was expecting you to do a lot worse with the clips when I read the comments first. They really are a nightmare when you haven't gotten used to them yet. I think I wrestled with my first 360 Slim for an hour before I got anywhere, but after doing a few I can get them open no problem. This is my first time hearing about those 0 ohm resistors, that's a pretty interesting problem.

Not a good design. The bearing constant clogs with hair as others have mentioned. The screw that you could not remove is backwards (right hand thread - turn it backwards from normal to loosen). It does not have to be tight - if you over tighten it that will lock up the brush (just like the wrapped up hair - the brush rotation keeps the screw from coming loose). We like the vacuum but every other use the bearing needs to be cleaned - terrible design for a “pet vaccuum” - if you can avoid long hair that wraps up the brush bearing it works well.

@@IRVERA23-po1uo I did an oscilloscope probe between 2 Xboxes; a known good power supply and the power supply in the bad Xbox. There was a noise difference between the two, indicating a possible bad power supply, however switching power supplies did not affect the error on my Xbox. Sadly the Xbox is now a parts piece, there's nothing else I can do. It's possible the power supply could have helped but I know the clock cap exploding did a number on the components around it

shouldn't you be using silicon grease not lithium.
@DiscountSasquatch
@DiscountSasquatch 3 ай бұрын
Either can be used (from what I remember). However, silicone grease has a tendency to eat away at other parts made of silicone such as seals, belts, or wire insulation. (Not to say that all lithium greases are fine though - make sure they're not petroleum-based before applying them to plastic.)

@graealex
@graealex 3 ай бұрын
@@DiscountSasquatch I think there needs to be more coordination, even with fast flashers. Like you have a scene that runs for 2 to 10 seconds, in which you move the colors slowly, and then completely switch them over to new starting values, where you can have slow fading again. It's pretty much a job for a micro controller.

Thanks for watching! Sounds like you might have one or more bad capacitors on the board. If you're comfortable working on it, open it up and take a look and see if you notice any obviously bulging/leaky capacitors. (Note that bad capacitors won't always do that though.) At the very least (and assuming you don't have a version 1.6 Xbox), you'll want to remove the supercapacitor before it does too much damage to the motherboard.

You should always remove the modchip first before doing anything else when you have an issue. This was most likely caused by the solder joints coming loose (Or already being shorted when it was installed) and the chip shorting out. The BA5815FM chip was already dead (No display and no eject) so no worries. Even losing the magic smoke usually isn't a big deal. I accidentally shorted out the equivalent chip with my multimeter probe on a PS2 slim and burned a massive hole in it while trying to diagnose no disc spin. Turned out, it was the issue all along, as replacing the burned chip fixed the original issue xD Removing the modchip and replacing the BA5815FM (And the fuse if it's blown) would probably be enough to fix the console in case someone has the same issue
