I'm Irish and my daughter has CF. Nearly every american I come across with CF has an Irish surname, the same as Jerry. We (Irish) have the highest prevalence of it in the world unfortunately. However this has been a very positive video and this man is very inspiring to me. Gid bless him

I have brain cancer & surgery 19 yrs ago. Then had my lower left lung removed 10 yrs ago. . Just got over lung cancer in my right lung. Now I have 2 brain tumors. This is a terrible disease. God bless her & all who have cancer. I go to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Dear Margaret - THANK YOU for your courage and inspiration - YOU are a TRUE inspiration to me. We lost my daughter in law, Taymi, 22 months ago (age 33) to CF (and COVID). My son and she were first loves (married 12 years) - super cute/loving couple. Taymi, too, was an inspiration. CF is a horrific and debilitating disease - super hard on the patient/sufferer and family members. P.S. You've got everything wrong. Polyunsaturated fat give you no energy only makes people fat and inflamed. Saturated fats and mono unsweetened unsaturated fats are the healthiest but won't make you fat they reduce inflammation and give you energy. Eat red meat, lots of cholesterol for your immune system. Anything FDA approved is probably lethal or will make everything worse. Coconut oil and butter and beef fats are best. Polyunsaturated are toxic.

I used to have one but due to the fact the hospital never took it out they had just ripped it out has me cringing thinking about it n how it use to have blood n other things come out and form around the tube it was so uncomfortable and gross I hated it and felt like death was better at times thankfully I don’t have to do this anymore imagine what he had but 20 times bigger no exaggeration I hated it so much

The only healthy fats are saturates and polyunsaturated and if you have health issues you should exclude most foods and stick with red meat and the two healthy fats. Keep away from fiber, pall carbohydrates and polyunsaturated fats. She is a misguided air head. FDA is corrupt.

Dear Jerry, I had several friends with CF who passed here in Australia, in the mid to late 1990s waiting for transplant. Mind you, the enzymes weren't as good , there was no DNase, they only had horrible mucomyst, and definitely not hypertonic saline or other neb antibiotics! Home Iv was never a consideration. ! And still here today Unless you need once a day therapy you have to be admitted. The vest, is not a thing here. Acapella or Pep is endorsed. I work in the organ donation field and I've never heard of anyone rejecting organs that they need. He comes of as entitled and above all! Tons of people die on the list. I wish you the best but at the same time, be humble and grateful.

Some folks assume that people with cystic fibrosis are allowed to eat foods in large amounts especially junk food with high fat and calorie. It's true that some folks with cystic fibrosis don't mind eating lots of food and having some snacks like chips, chocolate, protein bars and smoothies, cupcakes and cookies. But they should be careful not to overeat or have obesity because they just need the right amount meals and snacks to have a healthy diet.

I hear you all about milk and sugar and carnation instant breakfast, but I guess, given he's now an 'ancient' CFer, if those things worked for him he was right to stick with them as long as that was the case. (Only saying 'worked' as he's lung/liver/kidney transplanted now, plus things may have changed for him with the advent of trikafta.)

This is 2022, this guy is awesome. He is teaching a drug reduction class to many Sea cadets and he is one of the toughest guys I’ve ever seen.
