I'm in the same boat as you. Hard to reach the lever. How is this setup holding up for you?

Try using a SRAM Wireless Dropper Post Control.

I am not as lucky that i am a shorter person, so i have no problem of bending down to reach release lever, but i am still very doubtful abt this mod actually, i think the more thing that that sticks out, the more easy things that will catch the mechanism, and release the lock accidentally. And most of it all, it is not reversible....

I switched the middle part of the bindings, so I ended with the lever on the inside of the boot, and then I put a short line tied to the back of the binding. A lot easier to get out of the bindings.

Awesome. Looking to do the same. Keep the videos coming

No need to drill holes, I did the same only that I used cable ties and heat shrink tubing over lever to prevent snow building up around it. Works great. No warranty issues. Also be aware that behind lever there are two plastic teeth, one broke and I could only take boot out if I held lever up. Shop installed new bindings and reported fault to Burton. Since then no problems.

London City, can you please put up some photos of how you did it on your bindings. I would like to do it the way you are describing it here.

So the first the video I found is - kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ha6hdM1l0MXGYY0.html . You can see at .14 the shot I saw that gave me my design. Then at .29 the rider uses the new system. The FB page I mention (sort of) in my Video is Dig My Quiver - facebook.com/groups/Digmyquiver/ - There is a post in there you can find by searching Step On, that shows pics of someone else's version.

HAHAHA THIS IS ME!!! And no, your warranty is not VOIDED. Don't agree with a dumbass statement like that. This mod is the future. Wait til next gen. There is no validity in that statement. Some people say stupid shit. Anyway, this is great! I'm an old fat shredder with bad back and bones too :) Keep us updated please 🙏

Drill bit size?
@bigfanboy83765 жыл бұрын
So I used 2/16, but that depends on the screws you are using. You want the threads to bite into the material you are screwing them into, without the shaft splitting that material. So you pre-drill generally the diameter of the shaft and less than the threads. Make sense?

I'm sooo going to do this!

Maybe an elastic cord of some kind like whats used on keen sandals... its plenty strong enough but has enough stretch and movement to allow for getting caught on something. And instead of a loop at the top, maybe a plastic ball. Easy to grab, but also not possible to get hooked on anything
@whatchinmewatchu70315 жыл бұрын
For me.. i would much rather have a weak string that would break before the plastic lever incase it gets caught on something... Im not talking about trees..you know how alot of skiers are at the lift with their poles, and long pointy skis and what not

5 Days out with this hack and no issues with the snagging. I tuck the loop in behind the HiBack and have no issues. I do have an issue, that I think is an engineering defect that I need to fix. The Gas Pedal connects to the plate of the bindings with small plastic tabs. Those are now pretty much sheared off by the forward pressure of my foot as I release. Work has me slammed, but when I have a chance to put some time in I will find a fix I can live with. I loath to use any adhesives at this point because I have not had any time to take the bindings apart. I'll post an update when I figure it out.
