Si on passe le film à petite vitesse, à 3:40, on peut lire le nom de la commune de la Corrèze (en Limousin) où a été tourné ce film ; il s'agit de Noailles (Noalhas, en occitan).

@@aptdccvii Thank you! I didn't notice that it was released in 1922! This is from Wikipedia: "Nanook of the North is a 1922 American silent film that combines elements of documentary and docudrama/docufiction, at a time when the concept of separating films into documentary and drama did not yet exist."

I don't see any native people living in Reservations in Canada, compared to Americans. Those tribes have been living in their own area since the beginning, not being moved there by force from somewhere else.

This film is considered to have been the first “farce comedy” in film history. Apparently the lead actor in this 3/4 reel movie - a young man by the name of…wait for it…wait for it…Mack Sennett - thought there was potential in this particular type of “flicker” that Mr. Griffith did not. 3 years later, Mack would get to test his comedic theories out in a new venture entitled The Keystone Film Company…and both history and legend would become, in the words of a very popular modern TV and film actress and activist, a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously…that set the tone for visual comedy forever.

Amateur? Looks to be a deliberate re-shooting of the Miles Brothers film A TRIP DOWN MARKET STREET show a few days before the quake and fires. Therefore, almost certainly shot by the Miles brothers. The poor quality of the film is a matter of lab work, generations of copying -- rather than amateurish camerawork?
