I guess the people working in the Pearl station represented the doubt the Swan workers had to suffer because they never got to see the timer hitting 0. Had they protested then tey would investigate what to do about their doubts.

Actually the exit tube was high enough off the ground for a Truck to take them back to the Barracks and shipped off the Island from there. The Purge pretty much ended it.

Wrong originally that was the swans purpose but when the incident happened now it ironically became of the utmost importance and it became very real.

Does anyone else notice that Desmond has the same red mark on his neck after he flashes from turning the failsafe key as Jack does in LA X? There has to be some huge significance to this. I really think his sailboat is going to come into play with people leaving the island. I think they'll end up destroying the Ajira plane. But will also uncover Desmond's sailboat which is still intact AND on the island and like I said, will be used as a vehicle to get off the island.
