Hi there! You guys and your snakes!!! Looked like that first one was eating a bird egg. Liked that 600 mile sign made out of twigs! You talked about the Jenny Knob Shelter. Has a book been published with the history of the shelters, why they're named, etc? Boy, that rain - it is a good thing you didn't set up the tent - agh! You would have had to smoke more than your socks - HA!!! Jeff, what a gentleman you are letting Micah walk to the hornets first - HA! And hey - you left us hanging if I recall correctly. You said the Wapiti Shelter had a disturbing history but didn't tell us what it is!!!!! Cute pictures of you two hikers! The views are fantastic. Imagine what they look like in the fall!!! I love how you sometimes just take some time and stay in quaint places and visit - as in Harrisburg where the DQ was!!! Sweet of the lady to do your laundry. Of course I think of Hannah when I see the mushrooms. That one white one was pretty cool. It looked like a golf ball on a tee!! The pasture scene with the barn was very peaceful. Loved the orange flowers that were at the overgrown trail. It's too bad they let it get that way. Is there an office or a number to call and report it? Looks like that could be dangerous. Surely it's someone's job to keep it clear??? That part was suddenly so loud when you left the trees and were by the highway. Those fries at the Happy Hog - yum!!!! Your picture of the day!!! It was nice to see Hannah and Gracen yesterday, and he's so excited to be 21!!! And Levi is very happy with the extra attention!!! Take care, my friends. Watch out for those snakes and ticks - agh!!!!

Hi there! I finally was able to eat h #14!!! Love all the pretty flowers, dogs, and moths but NOT the snake - ugh!! Hope the pizza was good!!! The little town, Marion, looked pretty neat. I would think the Relax Inn was a bit more comfy than the shelter!! I really like the raised wood walkways. Those are pretty cool! Going under the power line - laughed at Micah telling you to go first!! And Micah, you're a hero - saving the little deer!!! So, for you sing along with singers at the one camp?!? Those Whippoorwills were loud. I imagine it was a long night - agh!! Like your pic of the dey!! Take care - look out for snakes. Maybe next time you'll buy some apes!!!! I'm sure Emily would like one - 😅😂🤣

Hey guys, Doug from Erwin. The Rattlesnake is a Timber Rattlesnake. The one you saw is a yellow phase, they also can be a black phase. The only other venomous snake you might encounter on the AT is the Copperhead. Hope you enjoyed your encounter.

I agree with Linda - no snakes - Ha Ha!! I imagine it was a peaceful night sleeping by the creek - the water sounded so peaceful! "Fat Man Squeeze" - reminded me of a place I visited in Germany with a very narrow gap one had to walk through sideways! Love all the flowers and the Damascus Diner looks like a neat place to eat! Love the maze y'all went through - so cool! I really think you should have made Hannah's "lovely" picture at the end the picture of the day - LOL!!! Glad you all could visit there and share the experience. Was Micah able to get another pair of shoes in town? Hope so!

The long brown snake looks like a Racer., but I’ve never seen one that color. The first snake is obviously a Garter snake.

Happy Anniversary!!! Love the water and waterfall. Was the water cold? Cute cottage and cute picture of you two! Ooh ... the mushrooms - Hannah - did you see them?!? Um, no wonder that guy lived alone - "pet rattlesnake"?!? Love the field of wild flowers and the single purple one afterwards. Um, you are seeing too many snakes - Ha! Overgrown nettles - ouch. Hopefully, they'll soon cut them back. Too late for you guys though! Damascus - cool how the trail goes through the town. 541 miles of Virginia - happy hiking! Micah, hope your feet are still doing okay. Remember, you have 1,725 miles to go! The picture of the day - HA!! Love you guys! ❤️

Hi Jeff and Micah...you're doing an excellent job with the video, Jeff. Love the awesome view, the beautiful orange flowers (near the beginning), the small flowers looked like little bells, cute red lizard. Did not like the small mouse when you 're fixing to sleep. Be safe!

I loved this!! Loved how you showed a picture of your lunch - Ha!! And the sound of the stream - so peaceful. Wish I had one outside my bedroom windows!! Love all the flowers and the bright colors of everything! The Smith Shelter!!! Um, did you think of me?!? Ha!! Glad there were no bears there - or Weirdo Guy. That newt - so colorful! Sad about the hotel and its demise. Interesting about the 4-walled cabin and the fire warden. Love all the history you're giving! Around this time you showed a simple wooden cross, but I couldn't read what was in it. Do you remember what or who it was for? Like the leaving NC sign and those visitors in your cabin. Elma would not have been happy with the spider who was HUGE - must have been eating a lot of moths! And that cute little mouse - Charlotte would not have been happy about that!!! Interesting about the trail name for the guy you met on the trail. Do you guys have trail names? I told someone here about you guys hiking the Appalachian trail. She was so excited - said it's something she's always wanted to do. I told her your KZfaq name and she went and found you! So now you have another viewer. I am really enjoying these and always look forward to your picture of the day!!! A friend of mine in Louisville would like that one because she has a turtle. Of course, I don't know if your picture was a turtle or a tortoise?!? Y'all take care and look forward to the next video!!!

Hey guys, found your channel after dropping you off at Iron Mnt Gap. The first snake in your video is a Northern Watersnake and the other is a Black Ratsnake, both nonvenomous of course. By the way, the card was mailed today. Take care and enjoy.

Loved that red flower at the beginning and all the other flowers and awesome views! You guys were out of breath with the bear - what an adventure! "Stay, Bear!" "Fresh scat on the trail" - would that be the same as "fresh poop"?!? She had 3 babies - aww. Love the deer and the water sound and the cute cabin. And not, were you guys fast setting up the tent - HA!!! But those snakes - ewww - especially the one slithering up the tree - agh! And what was that critter in the picture of the day? Hmmm ... Stay safe and keep hiking!!! Seen weirdo yet?!? 😅😂🤣

The snake? What kind? The kind I don't want to be close to - Ha Ha!!! Groundhog Pike (right? I didn't make a note) but cute name. Love the pictures of the wildlife, flowers, and various growths you post. The scenery is so pretty. I was afraid you weren't going to get pizza but glad that worked out and what a cute place y'all stayed at! Pizza - yum! Haircut - too funny!! It's interesting seeing the different trails. Some definitely look more easy to navigate than others. We've had crazy rain here and very LOUD and long thunder. Take care, friends! Happy - and safe - hiking!!! ❤️
