Ugh. They need a full band; it sounds too synthetic and dull.

They are a duo after all but they do could do with some touring musicians to allow more live parts to be played

I was at the concert in Mannheim with my family a few weeks ago. I was so enthusiastic that I invited my oldest school friend (since 1972) to come to London with me to dive back into the 80s. The really remarkable thing is that the PSB have never stood still and have delivered great new music in virtually every subsequent decade up to the present day. Mannheim SAP Arena: 10 out of 10 points. London Royal Opera House: 15 out of 10 points for a unique atmosphere in the Royal Opera House, great people, great atmosphere and a terrific audio-visual performance by all those involved on stage (and behind it) with Neil Tennant in top form. So professional, confident, self-assured, relaxed and cheerful at the same time, very few people can pull that off and it probably only works with 40 years of such success behind you. May they both stay healthy and creative and play at the Royal Opera again in the future ...

Saw this in NYC and I was blown away by the sonic landscape of the intro to this song- transformed the whole place into a nightclub! ❤

Pet Shop Boys music makes you want to move and, being a longtime fan who has seen every tour of theirs, this new group of dancers is fantastic. They really breathe new life into their music. This sold out Royal Opera House residency is a very special series of shows and, as such, it appears Neil and Chris wanted to give it a special touch. I'd say they've done that and then some. The choreographer deserves an award for the creative interpretation of the PSB songs. I love it!

Why put dancers on stage? Better only them....many dancers in small space....The best moment of the show is heart and these guys dancing destroyed ...
@astropioneer32965 күн бұрын
While I kind of understand what you're talking about-the old days of Chris and Neil solemnly playing their synth-pop alone on stage and standing very still (aka classic Pet Shop Boys)-"destroyed" is a bit hyperbolic. Most of their Dreamworld Tour has been exactly the way you describe: no dancers, and it was good. However, I'm going to totally disagree with you in this instance. This sold out Royal Opera House residency is a very special series of shows and, as such, it appears Neil and Chris wanted to give it a special touch. Most every tour PSB has undertaken they've had a troupe of dancers creatively interpreting their music live on stage and adding dynamism to the performance. I love it.
