We have actually changed our reservation for our upcoming trip, and will be staying at Pop Century resort again because I really wanted to be on the Skyliner line!

Great overview of every resort! I'd like to try some more of the value resorts, but I'm partial to Pop Century, especially because of the Skyliner. I appreciate you noting which resorts have the Skyliner, because I really like using it as a primary form of transportation.

Grew up in the Dells, so loved the video. The Dells will always be the Waterpark Capitol of the World, indoor, outdoor, doesn't matter, there's no place like it. Lower Dells boats still exist, obviously not as exciting at the Upper Dells with Witches Gulch and Stand Rock, but still a great, scenic boat ride. You've gotta do Paul Bunyans at least once, I can't believe you chose IHOP :P

I actually filmed this video with my Canon G7X camera, but even the photos that the rest of my family took with their phones did turn out beautifully. I think May was a good time to go because there was still a lot of snow on the mountains, and I enjoyed seeing all the ice in the water. I hope you have a great cruise to Alaska!

Train travel sounds so much more efficient in Europe. Not only is it often late and often takes longer than a car trip, but it doesn't appear to be any more cost effective than flying in many cases. So I don't see the attraction in the US. But if we ever got faster, smoother, trains that run on time in the US, I would be much more interested. But it seems unlikely that will happen for a variety of reasons. Thanks for sharing this discussion!

How long was your connection time in Basel? Is 30 mins enough?
@HeatherTravels
@HeatherTravels 27 күн бұрын
30 minutes is more than enough. It's a pretty compact station, and I doubt we needed even five minutes. We were actually sitting and waiting for the TGV train when we went back to Paris; it was late. It doesn't matter going to Lucerne because you aren't on a specific train; you can get any train that goes from Basel to Lucerne and they come frequently. See this week's video for more detailed information.

We’re staying in this exact room for our cruise in August. We did the “Guarantee” / GTY booking, for an ocean view balcony room, where RC picks the stateroom. Seems to be a pretty good location, fairly close to the aft elevators. Not right above the theater or below the pool deck or kitchen.
@HeatherTravels
@HeatherTravels Ай бұрын
We were very happy with this room's location. The only thing we didn't like that much was that it has a connecting door. Our neighbor seemed to be a solo traveler, though, so the only time we heard him was when he made some kind of call home on the last night of the cruise.

That is a great view from your hotel room. The Friends Experience did seem a bit cheap. But it did give me sentimental feelings about the show making me want to watch Friends again so I guess I will probably start doing that soon. I hope we make it to Warner Bros. Studio in California someday to see that experience in person. Thanks for sharing this with us!

Very good coverage Heather on how the system works when you book a wheelchair. The walking can be a mile or more at airports to get to your gate plus the standing in line time. I did appreciate last year when we got to Puerto Vallarta Airport as soon as you walked in there was about 10 or more people lined up with wheelchairs to take a people anywhere who needed it so easy. Gone it seems are the golf carts that use to take people around at least at our Toronto airport. Glad your mom was taken care of. As we age & 1 of my knees has been replaced already can see many of us needing this service.

Congratulations to your son graduating law school! The view looked pretty from your room love being by the water anywhere. So nice your parents could go too. Too bad the friends experience wasn't better it is one of the best shows that I enjoyed watching. One day I will eat at the cheesecake when I go back to the states. I think we have 1 in the Toronto area I keep forgetting about it lol

How long did it take you to transfer to the platform for the second train and was the next platform easy to find? I think I'm taking the same route Paris to Strasbourg > Strasbourg to Basel SBB> Basel SBB to Luzern but the transfer time for SBB to Luzern is only 5mins and I am worried about not getting to the train on time and getting lost finding my platform.
@HeatherTravels
@HeatherTravels Ай бұрын
I have a video about this coming up soon, so stay tuned! But you really don't need to worry about the connections outside of Paris because the trains come very frequently and you can take any train. I'm curious why you are going to Strasbourg first? Are you not taking the high speed train (SNCF Lyria)? Are you getting off to spend time in Strasbourg? In Basel, all the platforms are right next to each other, but you do have to go up and over on an escalator, but it's all right together in sight of each other. Be sure to watch the video I have linked at the very end of this video about our journey back to Paris - we missed our intended train in Luzern (it left as we were walking up to it), but it was fine because we just took the next one. If we had missed that one, though, we would have missed our high speed train (which we had pre-purchased tickets for) in Basel.

I love that the airlines provide this free service to customers who need it. My mom has reached a point where she would need this service if she were to ever fly again. So it is good to know what is involved in the process in case we need it someday. Thanks for sharing this!
