Hi mate watched you for a while. It just do happens I'd watched this before and actually ended up with the same bike to commute last year. I'm just doing the same job at the moment on it as piston blew. Just wondering is there another way of checking the timing without using that hole on the side of the cover? Thanks 🙂👍

I’m pretty sure they’re supposed to be an O-ring on that black cylinder. When you took it apart, you noted that you found a piece of one and you showed it to the camera, but then it didn’t show you replacing it.

Is there something more modern I can upgrade it to? Also an upgrade to get rid of the distributor? 1983 polo

I changed the pump on my mini r50 but the steering is still a little bit stiff like it was b4, what seems to be the problem ? Do I need to change the whole steering rack?

my hrd535 makes a grinding noise when i use my rotostop,the blades dont turn but they wobble slightly. the sound is gone when in engage the blades. i tried removing the middle bolt but its impossible to remove.

Looking at this after I realize my vehicle has missing hoses my plastic T piece on the vehicles side of the filter is blanked off both sides for some reason. I bought this sprinter not too long ago. any idea what the two hose pipes that's connected to the T piece is comming from?

Glad you noticed that alot of people do not and blame the bolt when the life has been strangled out of it in the hopes of it sealing!!! Also the nozzle tapers off so a new washer cannot stay central it has to be stuck with grease - finally its that black death getting down the bolt hole preventing proper torque down - resulting in compressed carbon, a hole through the water jacket and a jacked out thread 😮😮😮😢

What grease are you using on the seal and on the piston to put it together good video will be doing mine soon.

I noticed that most of the nuts, bolts, and screws are buggered up. Always use the proper size wrench or screwdriver. I would never use an impact driver on a carburetor. The metal is just too soft. I always grind off stuff like that with a dremel before putting things back together, or replace the fastener if it's too bad. I've had a LOT of trouble with the float bowl gasket/O rings leaking on those Bing carbs. The new ones don't seem to fit properly. When the engine is running, it splashes fuel around in the float bowl, and it drips down from around the gasket. Type F transmission fluid is recommended for Puch engines. There should be an O ring inside the part of the carb that slides over the manifold. Without it there will be a vacuum leak. I wouldn't sit on it with it on the centerstand. The stand was designed to support the moped, not a person. Sitting on it with it on the stand can bend the stand, and even crack the engine cases. Remember on this type of moped, the fuel tank is also the frame. If it is badly rusted, it can make the frame structurally unsafe. I found pinhole leaks in one tank after cleaning the rust out of it. They can be sealed, but I decided to scrap the frame. I weigh 240, and the frame could literally break in half while riding.

Unbelievable! I restored my first car 35 years ago, have saved countless callipers (usually stiff pistons due to rusted dust boot channel rust). Anyway, always struggled with the boots as had put boot in calliper first. Kept thinking I must be missing something, found this vid, tried it, works like an absolute charm. Thank you, thank you!

That takes me back years. Small cc machines are under rated. My little 1978 Honda 185cc Benly has given me many smiles per mile. Sticky tyres and up rated suspension helps 🥰 Also your choice of panniers helps finish off the look 😁

I followed this video to sort out my 435 model and it helped me greatly. The only tip I would give people and it is slightly more work to start with, but makes things easier when removing/ re-installing the carb and that is to remove the throttle & grab handle assembly. Disconnect the throttle cable in the handle first and it makes access a lot easier and everything comes away without having to wiggle the carb /air filter housing / choke lever out.
