The creepy guy was an excellent actor. He passed away awhile back. He played a pimp in the Clint Eastwood movie "Unforgiven." He usually starred in westerns.

This was only a Surf song in the minds of Liberty Records' executives. In the rest of the world, this single was known as "The Cruel Sea". Top 20 in the UK but no chart action in the US. Their only charter so they'd better stick with vocals by Billy J. Kramer!

I started going from 61 thu 64..last show I had seen was this one. My favorite place to be on weekends. I usually sat around 3 rd thu ? 10th row. But the show with Deion Warwick i was up further, and it still was great! She was so thin I remember thinking, but loved to listen n watch her. That was the last show I was at.

I really like the opening music at 0:14! I have a few questions about it: When the Free Design composed this track, what did they call it? Is there an extended version of this track? If so, where can I find it?

Please post both sides of this album. This is when you had to have real talent because there was no autotune during this time. All these artists all had great voices.

Thank you for uploading the alternate mix of this. I had both the Canadian and U.S. LP versions of this and have wanted to hear this for ages; can tell by the extra guitar at the end of the first verse, (the guitar in the left channel at the second verse's beginning) and the lead is different, and most of all when it drops out there's just the handclaps and drums, no guitar with them. Not sure why the intro is left off this but still nice to hear.

I had the original 1967 LP with the finger. I was 16 in Ohio and got into them when Omaha was an amazing hit single on the radio.

This is a re-recorded version from the familiar hit version in mono. Hunt was distributed by ABC/Paramount Records (or AM-PAR, as it says on the label), so ABC may have provided the stereo mixing for the single, as ABC was issuing stereo singles from 1958-1960. Dick Bartley, a DJ who had a radio show back in the 1980's and the 90's sometimes played this stereo version on the air instead of the common mono version. There's a piano mixed in this stereo version (right hand channel) that is notably absent on the mono version.
