It must continue, and around we go again! Good stuff and love all the cinematic footage.

I am puzzled as to why you don't have 1,000,000 subscribers? Your videos are so amazing. The cinematics and story telling is top notch. Kudos to you Lewis.

Great stuff as always Lewis...never understand why you don't get more views. I'm very appreciative of content creators like you that inspire us!

Many thanks Michael! Yes I wish I could reach more people. I think KZfaq really loves lots of quantity, and unfortunately I just don't have the resources to make enough content to satisfy the algorithm. I'll certainly keep trying! Thanks for watching...

A gun??? Really??? Why do you have video of The Wave when this is about Antelope??? I was not stampeded in any way on my tours. Busy, yes, but not rushed and the guides were very friendly and patient.
@LewisCarlyleАй бұрын
A gun! Oh my gosh! Run for the hills! the photographer is a maniac! Also, not the Wave, but rather White Pocket, a geographic formation near Lake Powell, and by proxy Antelope Canyon. In short, sorry to disappoint you with patriotism and logic.

Cool visuals but I would have loved some tips other than you can't bring a tripod. What time of day? Rough Idea of settings and lenses etc.

I think Photography is becoming like fishing. The average fisherman isn’t making money selling fish today, but it’s still a great hobby. Catching & cooking your own is better than a frozen bag of fish from the supermarket. Capturing a once in a life time moment or composition by hand will always trump the AI bots.

I took my dad there 22 years ago before the world discovered the canyon. Got some amazing photos. Also got some ho hum photos. This video explains why some were rather flat- light settings were wrong for some shots. I had forgotten about that aspect and seeing this reminded me of the experience. Good times.

*I feel like I've been waiting for this video forever!* This is an awesome throwback to Swift before the rockstar fame and fortune. This is a great story of humble beginnings and it's so cool that you've hung onto these images all these years!

Can you make one of me leading the peloton on the Tour de France?
@stickman-14 ай бұрын
I'm just an amateur, but I've used the up-side-down method a lot. Especially if you have remote shutter. It's really helpful for macro shots and shots shooting straight down, or nearly straight down. (Tarantula coming out of it's hole, fish in a stream, fish in an aquarium, etc) I "discovered" this use back in the 1970's with an old absolute tank of a tripod back in the day. But even my little Benro I modified so I can do this. When you angle the camera so the lens is pointing down your controls are facing up. Easy. ;-)

The shorter centerpost comment is right on. Without it it's no go for me. The one on sale is the older model. Haven't checked out its replacement.

How to fly drone in Grand Canyon? Is there a permit system?
@LewisCarlyle5 ай бұрын
Oh shucks, unfortunately there is no permit that I know of for flying in the Grand Canyon. The locations seen in this video are about 100 miles away from the Grand Canyon...Sorry!

The music and b-roll were on point! 👌 San Diego is beautiful, I've unfortunately never been. The amount of political shenanigans in California is always such a turn off to travel there.

lol at 7:40. sometimes, it's ok to just acknowledge that a scene only exists in a photo of the past. the initial one is beautiful. I'm just glad you got it when it was there! That's a big point of photography for me. It's worth it just to capture those fleeting moments that may not exist again

The expansion of Colorado, especially the Springs, is quite disappointing. With each passing year, it gets harder for me to photograph Pikes Peak because of the haze and smog. I think a day out in nature beats a day typing prompts into a computer for a vasty inferior AI "masterpiece" anytime. Also, that's a pretty cool knife!
@LewisCarlyle5 ай бұрын
Yes a wise friend gave me that knife a while back. It goes with me everywhere. As to the smog, that is certainly disappointing. Wildfires and traffic. Hurray for progress....

I have the older version of this tripod, which has a reversible center column and a stubby column. I thought I would never use the reversible column, but then I got into macro, and now I use it all the time.

Great topic! I've always felt that the self portrait sessions felt odd haha. Using stills from a video like this is definitely a good way to do it! It removes some of that "posed" feeling. Stunning video work as always! I think I've been to that campground too haha.
