I dunno, am I the only one disappointed? Visually it's spectacular, but nota *single* Fremen casualty vs 10,000 *with* ornithopters? Not one? We saw the Sardaukar handle Fremen last movie, now they enter mist and die in a couple seconds, not even a speed bump. I dunno, I guess it's more about the story of messianic and religious fanaticism rather than the believability of the battles, I guess.

Gurney has really good fingering technique on his baliset. I love how surprised Gurney looks after Paul helps him up. I love the new interpretation of this reunion. The reunion scene during the Patrick Stewart version of Dune was horrible. The special effects were bad. The reunion scene in the 2000 t.v. miniseries version was a lot better, especially when Gurney said "Paul? Is It truly Paul?" and then they hugged. The reunion scene in this version is much better. More emotion and you can see how relieved Gurney is. He looked like he wanted to cry at one point, but that would have been a waste of water, so he just does that shaky laugh instead.

The Fremen had all the prowess they had to overpower Sarduaker. Plus if you guys didn't notice that the Fedaykin were wearing the armory that was given by Gurney which helped to overcome the weakness against Sarduaker's firepowrer attacks

Pretty much everyone in this battle would be dead within a few days seeing as they all just took lethal amounts of gamma radiation, not to mention the heat from ground zero would have cooked the Fremen asthey came through the gap.

This became doubly worse for Alia, as this turned her into an abomination. Jessica, as a grown adult, had the mental fortitude to withstand the barrage from so many souls that came with drinking the Water of Life. Alia on the other hand had none of that. So essentially, Alia would be subjected to possession by any number of disembodied spirits throughout the rest of her life, with no way to control or alleviate it.

I wish this scene and the Pauls scene drinking the WoL could have been represented in a very trippy way like a real heroic dose of psychedelics. Not in a colourful way, but more in a dark intense, eerie, sublime, biblical, mindfuck way, that would put the audience in the theatre uneasy by experience such terrifying bliss, "the beauty and the horror".
