Yea I just bought a new champion despite 3 in my area for sale as used "for one project". I picked up an mtd a few years ago from an older lady whose husband had passed for $150 that appeared immaculate. Fresh oil, no gas, no rust. Took it home and it fired up on the 2nd pull and sounded beautiful. Put a piece of wood in it and it literally started to burn the wood instead of chipping. Pulled it apart and that old man rip had been bashing the machine so hard he bent the wheel and broke the screws on the blades. Needless to say other than the motor it was trash. Last piece of equipment I'll buy used unless I personally know the individual.

The leaves are still curling really badly and looks like some of the branches midway up are starting to get yellow at the tips too now. I haven’t fertilized but I did add a tiny bit of extra organic potting soil with compost in it. It’s on a pot on my apartment balcony and it’s only about 18” tall or so and it’s a love gourmansun sunrise beefsteak which is supposed to get like 8 feet tall. I’m not really sure it’s getting full sun though. Too many big trees around. I’m in central California only like 80’s still here atm. Any idea what could be wrong?

Nice I just planted mine under my large tree in front yard. I’m in Sac. I’ve found veggies and cherry tomatoes grow nice with partial shade here. Luv your garden!!

That’s what mine look like, a little bit curly leaves and new growth seems nice and green but the older growth has silver-yellow patches on them. That’s sun damage? I think the dimensions are different to all the others out there?... I have a few Gooseberry plants I planted from bare root cuttings a little over three years ago. Smaller than yours but still prolific. They gave me a little fruit in the second year and were loaded last year. Going into year four I think I will get another great harvest as they are loaded with blossoms. Soil on my property is terrible. It's rocky heavy clay and the lot is pretty shaded. I've planted all kinds of things over the years but nothing has done as well as the Gooseberries which I am very happy about as I discovered I like them and they are not something I can buy in the grocery store.

@3rinityivysage292 they may come back. Did it frost on the plants potentially where you are? They are super sensitive to cold temperatures. Usually better to only plant cucumbers once it is warmer. Sometimes a cut worm chews on the stem. So really you will need to assess the situation. Purely transplanting shouldn't make them floppy. Something else must have occurred as well.
