I absolutely love this video! Other vids I watched doesn't really give a good vantage point when making the rue which to me is the hardest part but this video details it perfectly!!! I appreciate you!

I’m a country gal was raised by my Native American mother and I’m actually ashamed to say I’m 60 and haven’t ate chitlins sense my Ma passed.. I bought me some chitlins yesterday and have been watching recipes on KZfaq and I do remember my Ma boiling them to clean them and she did take off all the membranes before boiling them. As a child I remember this as well as having them chitlins deep fried as well. There’s two recipes on KZfaq I want to try and yours is definitely one of them.. only question I have is did you not pull the membrane off it first ? I’m very curious to know. Also like to add we raised our own hogs there was hardly anything that went to waste, I love hog brains in some scrambled eggs, as well as mountain oysters, and I did have to clean the chitlins coming freshly out of the hog gross I’m glad I don’t have to do that anymore but would gladly do it to have one more moment with my Ma.” Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe..God bless you!!!

Looks great...just remember flavor begins in the bottom of the pot,so we season at every stage, every stage..and i boil my shrimp heads and crab pieces, and pieces of chicken with onion, bellpepper and celery and season to ur likeness and then strain, tones of flavor. Great job though

This is the best way I ever seen cuttings being cleaned and cooked the absolute correct way. My first time I ever clean them myself I done it this way. It seemed right after learning and cooking them myself

yep! i do believe this is it!...been searching for the perfect candied potatoes/yamms....my grannie made em & they were to die for. She learned to cook at a boarding house...they served the best meals around...Butter is a Must!the more the better. i figured out how she made her baked beans &she got mad at me...then i figured out how she made her blue ribbon Bread...and she never forgave me. So...she took to her grave her potato pancakes, salmon patties, & candied yams/sweet potatoes.
