This hit had zero meaning to anything only Jeters ego. The Yankees were eliminated. Actually 2 games before with Yankees hanging onto playoff hopes the great Jeter struck out. And that at bat mattered

Every team has a hero. Boston had David Ortiz. Yes there are some Red Sox fans that dislike the Yankees but still show respect for certain players and number 2 was one of them. So let's raise our glass and honor him. Thank you for all the great times in Boston and New York.

One of the best Yankee team was 1998, I thought the 2022 Yankees was going to be another great team, that’s not going to happen. Yankees brace for big disappointment in the next 2-4 weeks

Years later I still get choked up watching these Jeter videos. I grew up idolizing him. I was just 7 years old when he was drafted. I was 12 at my first Yankee game when I got his autograph. I followed his career all the way to the end. His memorabilia along with other yankee greats decorate my home office. He will always be our captain. Thanks #2.

So true Billy, you are also in my memory an MVP of comedy, so natural , so good at your craft while being a real person...beautiful tribute to the GOAT #2_ from one of the best of all time ! Billy there was something in the air or water of the Bronx Brooklyn Queens the from to 40s , 50s, 60's 70s that was true and good that WE ALL recognize! I miss seeing you regularly perfecting your craft, your story telling skills, timing and good nature , I will never forget!

I am willing to go out on a limb and say this. I grew up in the greatest era of sports. I grew up with super stars of the 80's the 90s and early 00's I got to watch the likes of Peyton Manning, Wayne Gretzky, Derek Jeter, Michael Jordan to name a small fraction of the amazing athletes in my time and so the rest is gravy, whom ever comes now is just a bonus, but I will always cherish these years.
