Nice vid mats! I have a dd frontline with whoopie strings Ive been using for years which is great but looking at getting a second hammock for when introducing new folk to how awesome hammock camping is. Looking at the henessey 4 season as nice to have different options. Main reason for watching your vid was to look at different suspension set ups folks use. I see you've gone whoopie strings here but notice a lot using carabiners and climbing rings - did you try this out at all? I havent had a close enough look at the HH to see how to modify to the whoopie slings though the climbing rings approach looks like a very straight forward option without modifying.

@35andRetired has a really good hennessey hammock video showing some cool tips and tricks. Ive just been playing around with setting up on a siberian hitch and a farrimond (tensioning) hitch on either end. saves having to carry straps or carabiners

I actually haven’t tried the climbing rings but I’m always looking to make my setup time quicker so I may try that. Thanks for the comment Tommy 🤙

Nice one lads. I’ve just got one of those tents on a well known second hand source. Btw I have a gstove and the instructions said put the kindling on top of the larger kindling/wood and light it and it works a treat! Not sure if it would work with every stove but worth a try. Happy adventures 🏕 to you and your mates.

Cool vid , You should try out the arrowhead potomac under quilt with your hennesy , its a perfect fit as its asymetrical cut and same shape as the hennesy ,not cheap but they warm and really well made

They real lite weight and you won't need the matt with the arrowhead under quilt, there's also a waterproof cover from onewind I think that can go over the underquilt aswel from memory to stop any dampness in real bad weather

Looked like a great camp and that stew looked lush!!! 😍 Maybe need a longer flue as the tent is really high to prevent holes! 😱
@johnn7614
@johnn7614 5 ай бұрын
You need to add much more extension flue pipes on your stove. But this happens more when the chimney is in the middle. They should have gave an option for a stove jack on the side wall.

I have 8 Hennessey hammocks Exhibition bottom entry Ultralight backpacker bottom entry Explorer bottom entry Explorer Ultralight zip 3 cubs 1 scout I have three factory super shelter insulation and 1 double bubble. The backpacker and the exhibition are my sons, and i use the Explorers. Great products i love them ive spent probably 100 nights in a Hennessey. My sons are the bottom entry and he loves them. We use the Ultralights for hiking and the regular for car camping. i absolutely hate sleeping on the ground now, lol. We both use quilts instead of a bag and stay cozy. I do agree the ropes are not great but the nite eyez cam lock is a easy mod to add and leave the rope. Thats what i did on my cub zips for my younger kids. I put dutchware bling on the Ultralights and heavy loops style on the car camping ones. All have factory tarps. But my Explorer xl i use the hex tarp

I have two Hennessy hammocks. I removed the suspension and replaced it with continuous loops and beetle buckle hardware and straps from Dutchware. This reduces the weight and makes setup a breeze. I also replaced the ridgeline on the tarp with a Dutchware ridgeline with hook and wasp hardware, and I use Dutchware ringworm hardware for the tarp tie-outs. I'd highly recommended these upgrades.

I don’t have a stove for mine yet and may well look for alternatives to heating. Many times we worry about being all ‘stealthy’, however in an emergency the red interior would make a great ‘attention getter’ for rescue situations. Just my two cents on the benefits of the colour.

Hey, I am super thankful for the videos. I just got the 4 season XL a few weeks ago and went out yesterday in the woods. I felt like a complete beginner coming from tent setups and it was very cold ( -2 °C outside ) but it felt amazing. Just learnt about snakeskins and put hammock + tarp inside for easy setup but I have a few questions for you. Do you use the emergency blanket inside the insulation space ? Also if you set your tarp on the carabiners, how can you adjust tension ? I like the prusic nots for that but it doesn't seem possible anymore with your setup. Also will you or have you invested in a proper underquilt ? I feel like the foam is too little insulation and the UQ is probably needed when below 0C, what do you think ? If you have any other recommendations, I would take any advices at this point. Thank you again for making this content, which is really helpful.

Nice little vid buddy. Whoopie slings for the lightweight win 😅 may I suggest "if you haven't already got them" soft shackle caribinas in place of the trad binas. Weight of about 4g each and stronger than most aluminium variants. DD. I like the red that would be most welcome on a winter camp. Take it easy.

Moin, Well done Video and it seems like an honest review👍👍👍 I've been sleeping outside in the HH hammocks myself for many years now and I love them. For me the Hennessys are just extremly comfortable 👍 I've still got 3 Hennessys write now still in use...........my Jungle Safari XXL, my Explorer UltraLight Zip and my Leaf Lounger for daytrips. Many years ago I started of with the Explorer DL and later on I bought the Deep Jungle XL and Survivor Man XL (Yeah I am a Hammock nerd😊) When it get cold I use the HH foampad together in combination with the HH Double Bubble XL pad with my Jungle Safari........keeps me warm down to about 0°C. If you are looking for an propper and fiting Underquilt.........the Simply Light Designs Trail Winder and the Warbonnet wooki XL Underquilt's work almost perfekt with the Hennessys 👍 If you want to see pictures of these Underquilt's on my Hennessys you will find them in the german "haengemattenforum.de" hammock forum under my nickname "wuppitom" 😊 Greetings from the baltic sea

I am actually from Portchester and have done similar walks too. I always like doing the Hampshire 3-Peaks from Exton to Old Winchester Hill and finishing Butser. 1 Church that always stands out for me is a bit further towards Petersfield and that is St Hubert's in Idsworth which sits in the middle of a field. I fancy doing the Ashford Hangers way soon, that's suppose to be a lovely hike too. Where abouts are you based?
