If Luffy wins in final saga otherwise Elders and IMU will keep ruling to defend the world from sinking as they see fit and keep a tight control.

Idk if someone already has this theory but here's mine. I think D's have their own meanig each lineage i guest? For luffy, garp and dragon, i think the meaning of their D, is Dawn. Why? Garp choose to not to be a admiral so he won't follow the dark side of world goverment and he's probably the head of SWORD. Dragon was a leader of revolutionary army, their organization are saving people who's celestial pigs slaves so most likely they are the hope and light too. About luffy, no need to explain why Dawn, The sun god itself. For ACE And Roger their D is Destiny or in other word is fate. They are destined to die for Dawn. Roger dies for Luffy. Luffy really admires Roger. Ace died for luffy also he sacrifice himself protecting the Dawn, luffy admired his brother so much. Roger teamed up with Garp to defeat the rocks pirate. I'll think about the meaning of D's base on their action. The remaining one i think is Xebec, Nefertari, teach, Law. Like this so i can update it

I realize after watching this why I cry so much about this show. The tragedy of the characters in their youth makes me care so much for them. Nico Robin pulls on my heartstrings maybe the most. Her mom.. it’s so crushing. She was lost until she was about 30 years old and finally found a family who truly loves her. It’s beautiful writing. And she’s so beautiful, sweet, and talented and she finally realizes it due to a crew of genuine people and not just people who wishes to use her for what she could bring to the table like before. That’s just one example, but in moments when you see a certain emotion on her (or any other character’s face) it reminds you of what they’ve been through, and it chokes you up (at least it does for me). It’s such a wonderful story. The best! Simply the best work of fiction I’ve ever come across, bar none. And there’s still so much to look forward to in the story. What a time to be alive.

The Will of D lives on - 26 years later from 1997 to 2023 this storyline is turning out to be a masterpiece with all the plots coming together.
