@@FedericoHazama nowadays, almost all new road bikes with disc breaks allow up to 30 or even 32mm, it is a trend. On one of my videos you can check how I customized an older rim break road bike to fit 32mm tires.

Where might I be able to have this done in my local area? What are the electric parts needed?
@custombikefactory
@custombikefactory 6 күн бұрын
Most of this could be done in your trusted local bike shop, but for sure they will not want to customize the engine and firmware. Electric parts can be bought on Chinese e-marketplaces directly or your local online shops, I am sure that specialized sellers will also be able to help with custom software installation.

Hello, I have a question. Largest rear cog 10-51, largest rear cog 32T SLX. Chain stay length in frame size M/L is 43.8. How many links should a chain have?

There are more variables for this calculation, the best way is to do it on the bike, here is official Shimano guide - very simple to follow mtb.shimano.com/stories/determine-chain-length

Is 1:02 a normal practice when building road bikes? I just thought that it was so smart because my chain has fallen off before while riding and it damaged the chain stay tube paint What material is that and where can I buy it?
@custombikefactory
@custombikefactory Ай бұрын
It is definitely not a common practice ;-). I used a thick, thermal resistant, transparent tape. It is commonly used on cars so you can look for it in detailing shops and it comes in a lot of colors too. Choose the thickest one to protect such spots.

hello what did you do for spoke length difference?On rear freewheel hub the driveside pitch diameter is unusually smaller than on the non driveside.I can`t see how you can achieve higher spoke tension on the driveside using required longer spokes.
@custombikefactory
@custombikefactory Ай бұрын
Hmm, to be honest I do not remember any issues when calculating the spoke length for these hubs. Remember there is also rim asymmetry and typically in classic wheel, spokes can be longer/shorter of 1-2mm and still it is possible to get good tension from both sides. This however can vary and I usually go for 1mm shorter than what is being calculated on the web.

@custombikefactory
@custombikefactory 2 ай бұрын
This really depends on a loooot of stuff, very hard to tell, there is also quite some additional work needed to be done apart of pure technical assembly. A skilled mechanic with a good workshop will do it in approx 3-6 hours, so multiply it by a hourly rate and you have some idea of the cost. Often such service might be done as a bonus when you buy parts etc.

The CUES crank will work with 9 speed chain, because the internal gap in the 9-11 speed chains are almost the same, it gets tighter from 12 speed, which will be problematic.

Hi, I tested the GRX and UT FD with normal MTB crankset. The crank is BCD104, it's 115 mm axle lenght, shimano standard, The chainring is 44 by 26, 18 teeth different. I use the MT501 BSA BB. On the road bike frame, 68mm, it needs 2.5 mm spacer on each side, on MTB frame, 73 mm, it doesn't need the spacer. They has the same chainline, about 49 + -1mm. Just loose all the L limit screw and tension nearly all the H limit screw. It works flawless. Thanks for you video.

Someone call Hambini. That BB install looked off. The cranks only made a couple revolutions when you spin them. Definitely ream the cups or install a Hambini BB to free up the spin
@custombikefactory
@custombikefactory 6 ай бұрын
Standard Shimano BB will never spin freely as it uses heavy duty, double sealed bearings on thick grease. For the record, even Hambini himself says that crank "spin tests" are not a good indication of BB/crank quality. If rider is not a pro or have no issues with frame BB execution, (or is not extreme engineering enthusiast), there is little sense to invest in Hambini product (which are one of the best on the market).
