this drawing is slightly confusing as you have got the phase cable going from your NC contacts on overload into your stop/start then it comes out as blue (neutral) into the contactor coil. even though you have already put your neutral to A1 side of coil from breaker, I get its just a visual colouration mistake but it is confusing none the less.

this is not a suitable method as it does not allow low voltage control -their must be a transformer installed to isolate the control circuit.

It can be a 120v coil on the contactor. So then you can pick power from one leg of your 240. No need for a transformer in this theoretical application.

This is just a basic motor circuit demonstrating start-stop control. The same circuit utilized by motor machineries like wood chippers, etc minus the overload relay.

yes, it will reset the timer.

Add NC modules to the buttons and run each others power via that. SO if button 1 is pushed, power is not even fed to button 2, if button 2 is pressed, button 1 loses power. If both are pressed nothing happens.

Installed the identical Omron timer for my homemade central vacuum system that I installed in my house 35 years ago. My kids would plug in one of the 30' hoses to pick up a few crumbs and never unplug the hose so my shop vac that I used for it would run for a hour or two. That model is extremely versatile in that think you can use 24,120 & maybe 240 volts for timer coil and at least 8 modes. Time delay on or off and other modes. Had great luck with Omron timers & 2 & 3 pole plug in relays.

Omron timers are very reliable timers and are found mostly in all industrial plant setup.

Thank you for this. But isn't the naming for Forward & Reverse interchanged? In otherwards, Left-side contactor is Reverse and Right side contactor is forward. Because the L1 and L3 have been interchanged on the Left-side contactor to enable reverse function. Isn't that so?

Forward/Reverse depends on how you see it, or how the machine movement is designed.

You get a component called a contactor mechanical interlock, it comes in between the 2 contactors and prohibits both contactors being energised at once.
