I wonder why they chose to include the USS Forrestal instead of the USS America? It would have made a lot more sense for our namesake ship to be a part of that event. Instead, the America was on liberty in Italy that day.

Good advice in ANY time. Some things never change, or if they do they just get worse... Or so it seems.

Isn't this something... Well, dear family of this quartet, my "non- black" father loved this rendition and sang it to me, his " non- black" ( white) child so many times I still hear it in my head now in old(er) age. I was thrilled to find this on KZfaq because I also have a memory of hearing it by these gentlemen, though not sure if on TV or an old movie. I am grateful for the talent that was " allowed" to be aired. Thank you for posting !

Only place in existence on earth like it, last city with its own completely unique culture left in the country. So much more than a just city it’s a lifestyle, state of mind, it’s like an extremely wise old man who’s seen so much and only changed slightly over time. Food is second to none, party scene unmatched, it’s been thru so much and even when they think it’s over with like after Katrina, it bounces back and keep going. 504 til the 🌍 blow YAHEARDME

In the early 70's, my 15 year old sister was date raped by a guy she met walking home from school. My mother in particular was furious at her, blamed her for the whole thing, told her she "couldn't be trusted" and forbid her to date again until she was 17. My mother's main concern seemed to be that because my sister wasn't a virgin anymore, "no decent man will marry you". Well it turned out that a very decent man married her and they have been together for years. My mother was cruel and ridiculous, she wouldn't even let my sister press charges because of the "shame".

My daughters only babysat for people we knew. My oldest to this day, locks doors and windows all the time. As far as boyfriends goes, I had to meet them 1st and interrogate all info about them. Each bf was always left with this advice. Anything happens to my daughter, you will be an odd smell in the basement. Things have a way of working out.

Ever since I’ve had a smartphone, one thing I don’t miss one bit about taking pictures is having to pay for film, and then have to pay for it to be developed and having to use a flashbulb any time a picture was taken indoors. Even with the flash, it often didn’t illuminate much of what you were taking a picture of anyway. Nearly all the time, unless there’s no light at all, it’s easy to take a picture with a digital camera, and a flash from a smartphone isn’t necessary.

It’s amazing how many commenters here think this is funny and camp. I’ve known people from my past who felt the same way-what a hoot! I don’t know what they think about it now. Most of them died before the age of 40.
