New Jack swing era was a popular during the late 80’s and early 90’s. I was born during this era, and a lot of teenagers were jamming to this genre.

The true roots and origins of Rock ‘N Roll is from Boogie Woogie and Stride piano, the Fathers and Mothers are James P. Johnson,Willie Lion Smith,Fats Waller,Luckey Roberts,Rosetter Tharpe,Mary Lou Williams, and Louis Jordan,Bar-Non there maybe others but these are the top,Boogie Stride piano, jump blues, and gospel music is what truly gives rise and the birth of Rock ‘N Roll, and it all starts in the 1920’s and pasted on from one generation to the next, from prohibition, then the depression, then WW2,the only dance that was popular in the 20’s was the Jitterbug and theCharleston, the 30’s was Big Band Ballroom Jazz dancing, the 40’s everything changed, the 50’s is the highlight the time of teenage rebellion Hot Rod racing and the rest is history.

My wife and I used to sing this to our grandchildren back in the early sixties when they were in middle school. Back then, it was called Junior High School, of course. They've all passes since then, sadly. I'm remarried now and my wife and I just welcomed our third child together, one of each.

It comes a time when I get tired of listening tired of rap music, and I hate to say it my soul music. but love country music, even my father was hooked on it, even saw quite a few in Anaheim California when I was living with my sister, Allen Jackson, Brooks and Dunn. on stage, but some times I like to go back to my mom and Dad's music. Big Bands, Ella Fitzgerald, Benny Goodman, Louie Armstrong, Gene Krumpa, Lena Horne, and Billie Hoilday.Big momma Thornton. Glenn Miller Duke Ellington, I like listening to and a friend of mine got me hooked jazz music and I also saw some Entertainers also in California, buy my favorite and I have her cd back in 2003, and man can she play a saxophone, Candy Dulfer.

Fats Domino recorded The Fat Man in 1949 two years before Rocket 88 . He should be considered to be more in the running for first Rock 'n Roll record than Jackie Brenston.
