I want to buy a camera to start and I'm in doubt between 7D and 40D. I don't want a current one because I want to learn from an entry level first.

Thanks for the great video. Have you noticed the levels of your metering tools changing while adjusting your brightness or contrast on the monitor itself? Not sure if I have a faulty unit or not but mine suffers from this issue. Waveform, false color, histogram shift up and down while adjusting brightness/contrast. Can't judge exposure reliably this way!!

I was out in a light shower, camera on a Peak designs shoulder strap with the lens (70-200) facing downwards. Camera was being lightly rained on and the viewfinder fogged up. Not sure if water was getting in to the viewfinder or just because of the temperature change?

I was looking forward to this video - love Outback Oz! Thanks for taking us on your trip, Derek. Loved the scenery, birds, rock wallabies and flowers. Pouring rain on Mt Sonder and dry riverbed, Todd. - love the contrasts. A rugged landscape but beautiful - just like life. Sending warmest wishes. Cheers

Hey, a lot of that doesn't look too different from Arizona! Deserts are wild, and the weather can be a roll of the dice sometimes; all part of the adventure, right? And, bingo, you found the Black-footed Rock Wallabies! And so many wicked awesome birds, absolutely beautiful pics. This looks like an epic adventure. Happy birthday, Mr. Hilton. Thank you for all the great adventures and filming tips over the years! God bless.

Hi Martin don’t wary mate I am on a big adventure right now lots of all the stuff you like and more to come, but my channel is changing, as I have lost my wife to cancer, so I am now on my own. Lots of van adventures to come as I am going to travel around Australia a lot more. Cheers Derek

These cameras are duds. Get a canon cinema camera, you will be alot happier.

It's much better to have just such a video camera than a useless cinema camera. The cinema camera sucks and is garbage.

Hi PKBTw The canon R5c camera transmits was on the LCD Monitor to the field Monitor but does not transit other actions like exposure tools. So there you go . Thank for your comments much appreciated . Cheers Derek

Couldn't agree more about people imposing their music on everyone else. It's just selfish bad manners and there's nothing "grumpy" in pointing that out. Love the van Derek!

Derek, great video. Zamberlans are best boots made- period. I am 62 and grew up in Colorado using many types of boots, but it wasn't until I moved to Delaware USA that I finally bought a pair like yours, and also bought the Tofanes. I hike hundreds of miles every year and don't take care of my boots that well, BUT, I have no problems. They are waterproof and incredibly comfortable, I actually was in a 36-mile hike in one day and ran a bit during it, and never got a blister, even though the boots were only a few weeks old. Everyone I know that owns a pair of Zamerlan's LOVEs them. Thanks again. Cheers!

G'day Derek, I was at Winton wetlands on that weekend in the chance I could see you,I saw your new van at the green Hill camp site all locked up, couldn't find you anywhere, too many people everywhere I went, people yelling at kangaroos just so they could get a photograph of them bounding away with their phone camera and also other people with dogs which is a nono, so in the end I called it a day and went home, I usually visit Winton during the week--nobody but me ,looking forward to seeing your van updates, cheers 🍻

Go Derek! I am a bit late looking at this video; those little antechinus are looking after you, aren't they and providing some entertainment. Love the images of the Willy-wagtail annoying the roo; they are very cheeky little guys. Plan B seems OK and having an income is great. Take it easy out there.

Sweet little critters but with a voracious appetite for caterpillars and whatever comes their way. I enjoyed watching the video. Your 4 star luxury van is a great asset; I hope the refit is going well. On the way out of the wetlands recently, I photographed a male Scarlet Robin and 4 females. Looking for the White-bellied Sea Eagle. Cheers H

I use both as well. Canon R5c, Sony fx6, Red Komodo, xf605 and DJI Ronin 4d 8K. After being in business for 35 years, I have a diverse clientele. And several clients have broad needs where I’m on a cinema camera one moment and the xf605 the next.
