I call those slingshot clamps. I replaced almost everyone on my truck with a regular hose clamp.

They also make a nifty tool that has a cable that's made to do exactly this for like 20 bucks. Called hose clamp cable pliers
@mikeysgametime89146 сағат бұрын
Just get the proper tool. It's so much easier with the cable clamp tool

The first thing you do is throw away any and all of those CRUSH CLAMPS. Install a regular screw style clamp. WHY ? Crush clamps do just wat the name implies. Age, use and heat cycling etc causes the hose to soften so the clap keeps closing but the age and heat haven taken their toll on the crappy plastic outlets they crack and destroy the necks on your radiator or any other part, causing a catastrophe failure. Hoses, belts and tires should be replaced around every 7 years anyway.

that hose clamp has a barb on it to hold it open if it dont its an aftermarket clamp
You are dumb, those clamps lock if you open it all the way with your clippers once you have it in place with a flat head screw driver you release it. I am going to make a short video to show you how

Those clamps lock together. If you continued opening it fully, it would lock together full open. Then, once installed, it's an easy release.
