Man, I don't understand why so many people are speculating about temple ceremonies. I was a Mormon and I've done all of this several times and it's no big deal. The whole mystique is just like it is with the Freemasons because it's not open to anyone, but only to members, but it's the silliest thing in the world. I'm an atheist nowadays and honestly, I haven't seen anything other than martial rituals with the intention of teaching and impress participating members in an exclusive place with a ritual unlike anything they have ever seen, in a thematically ethereal place. PS: I have no patience for this ceremony staged in ancient temples. I've always preferred to go to newer temples, where media is much more immersive and playful.

The more I look into every version of Christianity or any religion the more I thank God I am not religious. Ironic. But true. It’s fascinating and I can respect the commitment, but I cannot with any of it honestly. It never felt right to me, any of it since I was a kid😂

To be fair all Christians agree Mormonism isn't any Christian belief its a cult that uses pieces of the bible and takes them out of context. Only Mormons say they are another version Christianity when they are Definity not. XD

For two years I've had "missionaries" coming to my door, I'd normally slam it in their face, but this time I'd had enough and demanded to know who kept sending them--they finally let out they were Mormons, but otherwise kept talking in circles. I knew Mormons were a weird 19th century religion with polygamy but good grief, this is bizarre. It's like a weird cross of "Logan's Run" with the loudspeakers and Scientology.

Testimonies are not a time to make accusations about members in the bishopric, the law of Chasity is a key element of what it means to be a member of the church and it is important that you obey that law and so when a bishopric member has temple recommend questions it is one of many questions to make sure you are worthy to go to the temple; everytime I’ve had one done I’ve had the option to have my parents in the room, and there is almost always more than one person inside the room with you as well. So if you do have issues of misconduct within the bishopric ,testimony meeting is not the time or place to “call out” those people; instead it is always better to report it to the proper channels such as a stake president, a general authority, etc and in some cases the police. There’s two sides to every story and it wouldn’t be the first time a false allegation happened, but if it did happen you should not flaunt the mistakes and sins of others in front of a whole congregation…let their punishments come, if you “posterize” a sinner you are no better than the person committing the sin, the only one who should judge this bishop is god. And anyway by the age that you can go to the temple is around the time when you should know what the law of Chasity and other commandments are; if a bishop has to explain it to you then you were not taught about the commandments from your teachers and parents very well, which is ok but when a bishop does try to explain it to you don’t accuse him of being weird about it; in general the topic is weird to talk about but that’s why parents should teach their kids what it means instead of waiting till they get taught by someone else. This message is not condoning any misconduct I am just not convinced there is misconduct here without video or recording of what questions and explanations were given, innocent till proven guilty; and removing him from the stand is perfectly reasonable doing what he did chases the spirit out and makes it uncomfortable for everyone to be there… there’s a way to do things and he did it the wrong way. Be quick to think and slow to talk.

Don’t people deserve to know what they’re committing to? Does informed consent not matter when it comes to religion? The rest of the church experience is so vastly different to this ritual, it felt like a completely different religion when I’d gotten to the temple. I wasted years of my life on something when if I’d seen this I could have saved myself time, money, and the pain of deconstruction. They’ll never describe the ritual in enough specificity to get an accurate representation, so this video existing is the only chance people have to know what the end goal of what the missionaries are convincing them of

Is that what gets you damned by the lord, recording a ceremony. Taking covenants!?? Who created those covenants, Man? Show me exactly in thr Bible or Book or Morm, where it says, thou shalt not record a ceremony in my temple of people getting married. Just sounds like you're trying to defend and make people fearful of exposing your false religion. I gaurantee you 100% that this person is not damned, but in fact God is actually blessing them for exposing the lies and hidden evil ceremonies of such a wicked cult. You need to be careful of condeming others, if you condemn others you are at risk of condemning yourself.

If anything, why are people not curious about Priesthood? Those who say they don't have a priest but a pastor instead , or an immam , guru, etc are actually going to a priest. The person who you go to get spiritual advice from is a priest to you. You are conversing with a man to learn about God until you begin to ask God directly and learn of God directly. Those claiming to be Jews or Christians and even muslims and others should know that the temple worship is a similitude - a shadow of a reality that is found in Christ. Read the book of Leviticus and compare it with things said by apostles in the new testament e.g " I am to be poured out as a drink offering " Philippians 2:17 Of course , someone can know what being poured out as a drink offering means without even having known the scriptures. This is because it can be taught by God directly apart from the law (Romans 3) but later it might be a joy to find out it is written. Not everyone is going to delve into ancient rites but some of us are fascinated by them. We are curious in that way. This video shows an ordinance . Even if you think that nobody is getting anything out of an ordinance or that there is something wrong with it, it is an attempt of a re-enactment. If you are reading the book of Hebrews or Moses, how will you be able to imagine the altar, the veil and other things? We think our generation is smart because we have 3d modelling as a way of teaching and communication but the ancients also preached the gospel using 3d actual models which include the outer court with the laver and sacrifices, the holy place with it's tables and lampstand and of course within the veil was the Holy of Holies which contained the hidden manna, Aarons bud and the testimony. Is it any surprise that God will speak to his people between the cherubim and seraphim below the mercy seat? What is the mercy seat? Blessed are the Merciful for you shall obtain Mercy..

In the New Testament, all believers have the priesthood. God has made men, women, children, and even black people priests for 2,000 years now. It is not a position in a church. It is who we are in Christ. I Peter 2:5, 9 Revelation 1:6; 5:10 The true and living God is not racist. God never banned black people from the priesthood from the 1840's until 1978. God never cursed anyone with dark skin. Why do you worship a racist Heavenly Father?

@do-not-covet Latter-day Saints don't have any priesthood because they worship an exalted man from another planet rather than the true and living God. The Melchizedek priesthood belongs exclusively to Jesus Christ. Only Jesus Christ is without mother and father, King of righteousness, and King of Salem. (Hebrews 7) No Latter-day Saint qualifies. Anyone claiming to have the Melchizedek priesthood is committing blasphemy, a very serious sin. In the Old Testament, only those from the tribe of Levi had the Aaronic priesthood. No man from any other tribe ever had the Aaronic priesthood. Only those from the ages of 25-50 had the Aaronic priesthood. (Numbers 8) Twelve year olds were not slaughtering animals. Jesus Christ, his disciples, and the men in the Book of Mormon never had the Aaronic priesthood. They were not from the tribe of Levi.

How do you know whom you worship? Were you taught your beliefs through other men or by God ?
@Elizabeth-rk3do
@Elizabeth-rk3do 13 сағат бұрын
@do-not-covet According to the Bible, it would be blasphemy to claim to have the Melchizedek priesthood. I am not any better than Mormons. I am a sinner saved by grace. I was born dead in my sins, a child of wrath, a child of disobedience, and without hope in the world. Ephesians 2:1-12 It was only the mercy of God that opened my eyes and granted me the ability to repent and put my faith in what Christ did for me on the cross. I have been taught by God. The Bible is the word of God. John 17:17 Thy word is truth.

I don't think the negative comments here come from committed Christians, otherwise they wouldn't pass judgment on something they don't know. Besides, there is nothing satanic about praying for the welfare and health of others. Research has shown that all churches and religions hate The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Conversely, we are the only church that loves all other religions. That's the true love of Christ.

Hilarious. 1. *Brigham Young*: The second president of the LDS Church, Brigham Young, made several statements critical of other Christian denominations. For instance, in a sermon given in 1861, he said: "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to their knowledge of the salvation of God" (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 8, p. 171). 3. *Bruce R. McConkie*: Though not a president, Bruce R. McConkie, an apostle, made influential and sometimes controversial statements. In his book "Mormon Doctrine," he wrote: "The Roman Catholic Church...is the great and abominable church" (Mormon Doctrine, p. 129). This statement was later softened in subsequent editions, but the initial publication had this language.

If you can’t tell the youngest children in your congregation the truth about the leader and founder of your “church”, there’s your red flag that you’re in the WRONG church! To really think these men see themselves as following Christ while simultaneously saying, “just don’t tell my children the truth, they need this lie”… 😢 it is such a sad precedent to set. The absolute worst thing about the Morman church is that it *does* teach some good things. Many good things, actually- in terms of how to live a healthy, fulfilling, and family-focused life. But like all false religions, it then takes a swivel to the left and couches the 30% of solid, loving, biblical truth with 70% harmful and anti-biblical lies, rituals, and man-made fallacies. This is why so many Morman children grow up and leave religion entirely. They throw the baby out with the bathwater 😢.
