So I’m not sure of this will fix my issue. I own a 2012 Honda civic ex-l 1.8l auto sedan and I was driving down the road and my instrument cluster and speedometer went black nothing lights up on the dash except the headlight icon i pulled over turned the car off checked the battery got back in started it and it runs for like 3-5 seconds then turns off I’ve changed all the fuses and relays and nothing working the battery and alternator is good and I plugged in my obd read and got a code u0155 I’ve tried to clear it with no luck I’m not able to access my vehicle due to it being 35 miles away and I moved away from family so I have nobody to give me rides. But will this possibly fix my issue? Any help is appreciated and thank you.

Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. I tried this on my 2013 civic ES Cuz my abs lights along with other lights would it turn off. So I did this HARD START trick and it restarted the car’s computer. Of course I had to drive it a few days so as to let the computer recalibrate. WOW my dash lights ALL CLEARED. LIKE NEW. THANKYOU again for this video. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

For safety the battery disconnection should be negative first, and the reconnection should be positive first.

Theoretically, this should work on every make and model with similar problems as well when no start.. By doing this you are resetting the whole system: not just ECU but modules, sensors, circuits. However, the computer needs to relearn the new parameters of idling, rpms, etc. It takes several cycles of driving..

My battery died and I got a jump start on my car and the display stopped showing. The hard restart worked like a charm! Thanks for sharing the info! After I restarted the car I needed to put in my radio code as a tip check the glove compartment and enter the numbers on the stickers inside.

Then I went asking around for any alternatives besides using your method...and this mourning I got a response saying "try to remove the #29 fuse, with the 10 amp (its a red one, it's located at the bottom/lower part when you open the under the hood fuse box) and so I did as it said, so I pull it out, i waited about 10-15 seconds, i put it back in, i turn on my car....and everything was back on Oil life, MPG, odometer, etc. And everything stayed the same since I last saw them Thanks to them, they help me avoid any typicall mechanic that would charge you/ steal from you like hundreds of dollars for "Labor" that wasn't done, or wasn't done right , or wasn't nessary and also help me avoid the "HONDA STEALERSHIP" a.k.a mechanics in a suit which both would have taken more then 10 seconds to fix the problem, and both would have charge me like 160...the STEALERSHIP definitely charge me more for work that was never done, So anyways that's all..and i hope I help you out

NEVER connect your NEGATIVE battery cable first. always connect the positive to reduce the risk of spark and unwanted power surges

I have a problem were my 2015 civic turn off on me and the power steering light came on also the traction control and the tire pressure. If I do that will it go away??

Clock and everything should reset regardless if you just disconect either of the 2 wires off the battery. Pos. Or neg. Touching those wires together while not connected to a powersource is pointless non the less lol.
