This puts Eisenhower's speech into a better context. It explains why then and now, we are constantly involved in wars around the world, either directly or by proxy. The Defense Department cannot sit on weapons that might become obsolete. They must be used up, plus the money is to vast. Also, remember that John F Kennedy wanted to pull us out of Vietnam and break apart the CIA and these other institutions that support the military industrial complex. We all know how that ended.

The only thing about Ms. Jacobsen I don’t like is that it’s only recently I’ve come across her analyses. I’m only a mere layman, but I’ve an avid interest in our defense industry and weapons technology. It’s obvious she’s well researched on her topics, uses accurate phrasing, and her knowledge of history is spot on, which gives me a lot of confidence about her expertise on her subject matter. The fact that Ms. Jacobsen is an articulate and confident speaker that can talk about these topics using plain language is an added bonus - sometimes it can take hitting the rewind button often before I can absorb information.

Edward Snowden got in a lot of trouble for telling us that these things exist, that we are spied on, and all of the technology that DARPA lets us see is only the tip of the iceberg. Ms.Jacobsen is an absolute genius, every thing she says and every book she has written proves that.....

Recommended reading: Red Moon Rising: Sputnik and the Hidden Rivalries that Ignited the Space Age by Matthew Brzezinski. From Amazon: Matthew Brzezinski recounts the dramatic behind-the-scenes story of the fierce battles on earth that preceded and followed the launch of Sputnik on October 4, 1957. He takes us inside the Kremlin, the White House, secret military facilities, deep-cover safe houses, and the halls of Congress to bring to life the Russians and Americans who feared and distrusted their compatriots at least as much as their superpower rivals. Drawing on original interviews and new documentary sources, Brzezinski tells a story rich in the paranoia of the time. The combatants include three U.S. presidents, survivors of the gulag, corporate chieftains, ambitious apparatchiks, rehabilitated Nazis, and a general who won the day by refusing to follow orders. The true story of the birth of the space age has never been told in such dramatic detail, and Red Moon Rising brings it vividly and memorably to life.

Those 2 planes in NY showed what real value DARPA has. What good is it if it's got nothing for a situation like that? That said, the Human factor was the biggest defence blunder on 9/11. Humans not following their own protocol. For the damage that occured on that day, it may as well have been a tachtical Nuke that hit America. I expect DARPA has something for it now, if indeed they didn't back then.
@ronjon7942
@ronjon7942 11 күн бұрын
What would you propose they should have done? Until the second plane impacted, nearly everyone, EVERYONE, assumed it was an accident. Do you think DARPA had, or has, the ability to detect those specific brainwaves, at a distance,that are an indicator someone will intentionally fly an airplane into a building?
@fongy200
@fongy200 11 күн бұрын
@@ronjon7942 I concede that it looked like an accident the first time, but the second one, without meaning to sound calous and I'm whole heartedly sorry, but that second plane should have been disintergrated over the water. By this time they knew full well what was coming.Not a Jet in sight. I cannot propose anything for such events. Who can? But so many failures up and down the chain in protocol didn't help. Brainwaves? Conspiracy theorist are you?

I really wish Eisenhower had never said "Military Industrial Complex". Rarely have 3 words been so often been taken out of context. He didn't mean to eliminate or cut military spending, he meant for us to be responsible with it. Take a look at all the ships, companies, battalions, etc. that have been started, then after millions are spent, are cancelled. That's not responsible. A $400 socket wrench screams for oversight. If the bill for the wrench is $400, I damn well better know why. Why are we concerned about how to fly a moth? How do we de-transhumanize a soldier? Where I go, who I see, what I read is protected under the 4th amendment. We do not regenerate in that manner. Throughout a period of 7 years every cell in our bodies are replaced. If that's regeneration, then OK, but it's not. Using her example, "we were one cell, then we were two, then we were four, and on." No, that's not regeneration, that's multiplication.
