My 2016 F150 (2.7L) didn't have any issues during warranty. I had a minor issue (false rear door open) that I repaired out of warranty. That said I only have 60K miles. Doubt it'll last another 8 years without significant issues but, I hope it does. I've always done my own maintenance.

I have a utility trailer I mounted a motorcycle clamp on. I decided to upgrade the lights to LEDs, and in doing the wiring, I managed to pinch one of the wires creating a dead short. I didn't realize that had happened until a friend was following me one evening and told me the lights on one side of my car were not working. I had driven for months without one side of my car's running lights. Fortunately, I was driving a VW and the German over-engineering saved me from being totally dark. Each side of the running lights were fused separately. I found the short on the trailer, fixed it, and it's been fine since.

This is why I am keeping my 2007 F250 BULLET PROOFED 6.0L Diesel truck with 95,000 miles! Just wait till your water pump goes out. Ford thought it was a good idea to put the 3.5L Electric water pump inside the front cover, so when the seal goes bad coolant will drip into the oil pan....."Not a Better Idea"!!

Jan 2000 I bought a brand new e150 conversion van with less than 100 miles. transmission leak at 600 miles, 900 miles, 1200 miles. then the dealership told me that I couldn't bring it in for any more transmission leaks. I smelled burning antifreeze. had it in several times with the standard, we can't find a leak...I asked if they had even put dye in & pressure tested it. that time they said that's what they were doing & they needed it overnight. again they told me no leak. I was so suck of their BS I started driving to the next town Ford dealer. when they typed in the VIN, the guy said WHOA it's had a lot of work on it. I asked for printout of all repairs. well well well...they replaced the main head gasket the time they had it overnight to pressure test it. you mean to tell me that ME a 32 year old pregnant mama with 2 other kids knows more about fixing the damn van then they do???!!!

Edison Motors utube channel is working on a ev conversion kit for trucks. They replace the engine with a cat 6 cyl generator, electric axels, batteries and a fuel tank for extended range. It also replaces a backup emergency generator and solar battery storage. Also working on a solar hybrid refrigeration trailer loaded with panels. Any good news on beef availability yet? Dam monopolies take 60% of every retail dollar vs paying growers 40%. That's the result of targeted food safety bs requirements. Same farmer feeds his family is enough inspection for me. Also not being finished in a mountain of manure feedlot.

I'm not aware of any sticker or I.D. plate on a vehicle that has the vehicle's actual weight stamped/marked. What it shows is the vehicles GVWR, which (as I understand it) is the maximum weight the vehicle AND load/fuel/etc... is rated to hold.

Septic tank and electrical inspections seem reasonable, as well as building inspections. The government has taken on the duty of insuring that the septic tank and drain field are large enough to handle the usage - you said a 4 bedroom house. The electrical installation needs to be checked for safety to prevent fire hazards from unsafe installations, although the installation itself is something a layperson could do. And you definitely want an engineering inspection that keeps the building from falling on you from poor workmanship or materials. In most cases there are no problems with any of these things, but it is always better to check first than have the fire department come out to rescue you later.

Def feel for the Farmer upon facing the quality issues. The parts availability portion of the rant seemed uninformed though. Feels like a lot of people here are covering their eyes to the fact that we had a global pandemic that impacted all supply chains. I’m not here defending ford or quality, just pointing out the obvious.

The problem is to many companies and people don't care about anyone but themselves and will cut corners when building. Then when they are ready to move on to their next "dream" home they sell it to unsuspecting people who have know idea how things were built. So yes permits are needed with inspections. Can they go to far oh hell yes they can and do. Why can't a person use milled lumber from logs sourced from other property if they can from their own? That one makes no sense at all, seems more like a law made to help box hardware stores and large lumber yards. I know from watching car channels here on KZfaq you guys in the US can throw almost anything on the road compared to the strict laws here in Canada. Frankly it's scary what they allow there. You need regulation to protect others and sometimes people from their own actions. That said any legislation should be about safety and protecting future generations and not some companies bottom dollar.
