He's mid 80's and the saw is ported with no head gasket and the cylinder had the squish cut.

About 2/3rds made it, but the whole year was almost a bust. Late frost, hail, too much rain, and nitrogen tie-up from mulching with leaves/wood chips. I think the ph was low also. Pretty disappointing but we're ready to try again. We got a soil tested and i believe we're ready.

The axle pivot is 1½" DOM tube with 1½" solid stock inside. I polished the round stock till it slid inside the tube smoothly. Wheels/bearings/spindles were purchased at Country Manufacturing in Fredericktown ohio. The pivot tubes i drilled and tapped for grease fittings and 1½ locking collars from TSC keep the axle from coming apart.

Looks like a great build..but I’d get away from those hard tires and get some high flotation tires. Those seem to real bop around when they hit stuff

Thanks Jesse. The tires were way overinflated on the maiden voyage. Probably from setting the beads. I aired them down for now, but i could potentially haul 1 ton of wood in it. (1/3 cord of oak is 2000 pounds)

Is that a pillow block welded into the beam? And spindle welded to the axle? Looking for ideas for mine thanks

The walking beam is 3x2 box tube. I ran a hole saw through both sides with the drill press. The 1 1/2 solid stock spindle goes through both sides and is welded on both sides. The axle tube is 1 1/2" DOM tube welded on 2 short pieces of 2x2 box tube. I drilled and tapped the axle tube for grease fittings.
