Ok this is awesome - subbed for more. I drove a new G37S way back when, cant imagine how fun it feels with 1,000 pounds shaved off. Extremely unfortunate how a straight-through vhr sounds like a rattling heat shield on coca*ne under decel. Best combo I found over time was Berk cats and four 14 inch long 4" round magnaflow straight through canisters (dual exit). N/A VR38 sound. Cheers

I am definitely going to tune the exhaust not over some time. I will definitely keep that setup in mind! Vr38 sounds so good! Thank you for the sub as well, I will definitely be posting a lot more once I break everything in. I will take it drag racing, drifting, do some launch / 0-60 clips, etc!

It would be way easier in any rhd chassis just due to the fact you don’t have to deal with steering shaft near the starter issues on the HR/ VHR engines! I’ve thought about that too, buy a dirt cheap Nissan from Japan that no one wants and slap a hr or vhr in it! Would be super cool!

Nice car 🔥 How long did this project take???
@stairmaster30012 ай бұрын
Thank you! It took me about a year in total from pulling the ka back out and prepping it for the VQ. Some of that was my own fault and part delays beyond my control. If you had all the parts on hand, this swap could be completed in a few months easily! One of the longest and crucial things is the harness service. Hexa offers it but it can take up to 6 months. They are back logged. There are some other people who offer it as well (guilty garage, rs enthalpy, zfever). Zfever was the fastest claimed turn around but the price is a lot higher. Hexa is the best deal of your are willing to wait.

Currently looking at exhausts for my PS13, I used to have the series I ISR on my old one which I loved but I thought I’d go for a titanium Tomei this time around until I came across the series II between the Titanium exhaust and this one… this video is definitely helping me make my mind up 😂 one thing I love about the pie cut is that it’s less likely to burn my bumper 🤣🤘🏻
@stairmaster30014 ай бұрын
Haha! That was one of my reasons for going to the pie cut. It also looks so amazing. I feel like the sound is perfect for an SR. I wouldn’t change a thing and I get compliments all the time on how my car sounds! The fitment is great and more tucked up, also if you want to have a muffler again at any point, you just have the buy the muffler rear section for $180 and it bolts on to the mid pipe, since they are all the same!
@FrankStar27974 ай бұрын
@@stairmaster3001 I agree it looks really good and sounds great too! Have you got an aftermarket manifold too? Haha I can imagine, I had the same with my last one and everyone loved it 😂 oh sweet that’s really good to know thank you mate! I’ve got an origin body kit and my rear bumper sticks out a little further than the OEM one so I’m hoping it’ll be long enough and protrude the bumper but if not I’ll get it extended, that’s another reason why I’m looking at ISR again as their mufflers seem to be longer than other makes 🤘🏻 Might be a bit more expensive here as I’m in the U.K. but no surprises there lol

@@stairmaster3001sorry mate I’ve only just seen this! That’s sick, I have an aftermarket manifold but will be fitting the downpipe and decatting the PS later this week so I’m excited to see what it’s gonna sound like as an entire system 😁 the exhaust turned up about a week ago and I’m over the moon with it so far, it definitely puts a smile on your face!✌🏻 It really does but I’ll repainting the car in time anyway so I’m not too bummed, after cleaning the soot off with a clay bar there’s a little yellow discolouration on the inside of the exhaust exit so it’s not horrific at all and barely noticeable unless you get up close, it doesn’t show up on camera either so I’m happy haha You definitely should we have some great shows here and drift demos! @stairmaster30016 ай бұрын
Definitely a good idea to do a time lapse on that one of how much hammering is needed. Oddly enough, on my s14 when it had a cd009, I hammered the crap out of it and then the transmission fit with excess room, so maybe I got lucky on that one? Haha
