Am I stupid or does the worn n warped not really sound TOO broken? I dunno, Im used to broken audio sounding like static and chunks, it is OFF but it actually seems like the data is relatively intact.

I'm familiar with the AT3600L. It really is an excellent cartridge, but those sound samples of yours sound awful. They'd put me off buying one if I didn't already know how good it could sound.

I'd just like to add that the cheap turntable I bought is an Audio Technica AT-LP2X, automatic turntable, I just wanted to replace the felt with a good 4 mm rubber mat, it's a joy! I push the button and the needle gently settles on the record, no hissing, you can hardly hear the needle rubbing on the surface, silence and then, incredible music! I have a more upmarket turntable with a Goldring 1042 cartridge, so you'll no doubt think that that I'm stupid or that I don't know much about it? maybe, I'm 71 years old, I have a collection of 800 vinyl records, I know when music is good or bad, I let my ears guide me (they still work well) well if I'd discovered the AT-LP2X with its ‘little’ AT3600L cartridge, well before, I probably wouldn't have spent 900 euros (+- dollars) on more top-of-the-range equipment! I regularly listen to classical music concerts and I realized that this cartridge best recreated the atmosphere of a concert for me. What do you need to hear the breath of the clarinetist or the latest details of the mechanics of the instruments, in a concert hall you don't hear all these things, but music and that's what this modest 3600 cartridge does!

So I have similiar Sony DCR-DVD202E model and I bought a batterypack, it is not original and the problem is that I put the AC cable on and it seems to charge it because the yellow-orange light is ON, but later it starts to blink slow. The camera was not in use in years. I have 2 original batterypacks with the InfoLITHIUM sings etc. but there is the same problem with both of them. They are very old so maybe thats the reason, but with the new battery that I bought now? What is the problem? I can't find any help anywhere. The thing is that the camera works good while connected to the AC charger. Then I can record, open the DVD pocket, basically all works good. Years ago the charging worked normal, I have never had the separate charger for those batterypacks. I've charger them attached to the camera and it worked good. Help.

Good job on making your first contact with blu ray. Welcome to the archive world. If you want the longest lasting disks, use a quality burner or use 25gb blu rays since duel layered discs tend to have burning problems when switching layers. For media just use either a Verbatim BD-r (HtL) or Mdisk. These Offer archival benefits that should suffice your needs. In terms of software I would strongly recommend imgburn, using windows for burning just feels wrong and stupid, and NEVER select the “like a flash drive” since it would cause some weird issues and lots of confusion, either format it as udf or use like a cd dvd option.
