I sold most of my Canon lenses, but in the end, I decided to keep my canon 70-200mm F4 IS version. Now, I am switching to the Sony A7C II with a Metabones adapter, which still provides very good autofocus speed and excellent sharpness. So nowadays, this lens is a pretty good choice for a full-frame camera. ❤

In terms of hardware both are manufactured by Noritsu. With the Fuji machine you are stuck with CP-49E box chemistry, where as on the Noritsu is standard RA-4 chemistry. Personally I would choose the Noritsu as the software is easier to use and very customisable.

How is your printer on monochrome colors? I am finding this printer has problems with banding, that no amount of head cleaning or printer calibration solves. Setting it on fine helps, but it is still not perfect.
@firstchoicephoto
@firstchoicephoto 26 күн бұрын
Is the banding in the direction of head travel or 90 degrees offset?
@JamesSmith-kr9zw
@JamesSmith-kr9zw 26 күн бұрын
@@firstchoicephoto Thank you for your reply. Yes the banding is the same direction as the head travel. It is as if the head is not being fed enough ink to give a uniform print.

@@firstchoicephoto if you search for "minilabhelp D1000 banding" you will see something similar
@firstchoicephoto
@firstchoicephoto 19 күн бұрын
I have not seen that. I did have a banding at 90 degrees to the paper travel. That was fixed by first making sure the had was cleaned, then running a Paper Head Adjustment till everything was 0, then running a Paper Feed Adjustment. Also I have found on some images that you NEED to use a higher quality setting to eliminate some banding. It appears in solid areas that are darker then 50% grey but just shy of 100% black. I make sure to run those on Print Quality - High Quality and that goes away.
@JamesSmith-kr9zw
@JamesSmith-kr9zw 19 күн бұрын
@@firstchoicephoto It seems these printers need constant adjustments to keep them working properly. I have 4 of them and they all are giving problems. I shouldn't have to switch to high quality in order to get a decent print without banding for certain images. It is like these printers are pre production and we are doing the testing for Epson! Hopefully things will improve with future software updates. I miss my Noritsu wetlab.

In some situations the filter will darken the image. Not every time but it can reduce lighting by a stop or even two. A lot depends on what the subject is and how it is lit. I generally don't worry about it as I would rather it be slightly under to work with then over.

I think that people use too large apertures rather than too small, nowadays. Almost every single photo from large sensor cameras, published in the internet (excluding landscape photography) are “bokeh shot”. Portraits, nature, macro etc are nearly always the same main theme - I bought a new super bright lens and that’s how it blurs the background. Composing pictures with large depth of field is very challenging.

I’m looking for a good high volume printer for my home to help me print out all of these photos and then just keep printing as I need. What do you recommend? I was looking at an Epson Eco tank printer. I have a canon PIXMA, but the cartridges don’t hold much ink and it just becomes a pain because I can only print out about 10 photos before it needs ink again. It’s just irritating. I’m looking for something with a high volume capacity , that’s affordable and works!

Also nice and easy is the software "Epson Print Layout" including softproofing. I am very happy with the quality of the prints on Ilford Studio matt, satin and glossy paper. The Epson 107 ink is realy cheap. With included 70ml (each ink) you can print many Photos! There are some disadvantages too: - There is no ethernet, you have to use USB (or wifi) - There is no gray ink => for black and white prints it is not the perfect solution - It is specified only up to 300 g/qm paper How good it will work in long term run, I do not kow...

I wish it was that simple. Seems a lot of photographers have a chip on their shoulder and they almost expect their clients to break a door down to get to them. Then when they do get the customer that chip seems to get even bigger. Unfortunately I've heard way too many horror stories about the egos of photographers getting in the way of a photo shoot. Some to the point of ruining their business.
