What do they feed on. There must be enough food to keep a population this big going. I thought I was going to be watching something like snake island where thousands of snake's are waiting for the iguana to run, they detect motion and it's belly churning watching it play out. This is much more the friendly snake, I've never come across anything like this before it's cool. 👏☘️

They only gather like this for hibernation, the rest of the year when its warm they spread out across the marshes and hunt for frogs, newts, worms and fish

Rob, this was brilliant! That has to be, without exaggeration, the best footage of British freshwater fish I have seen on KZfaq, probably ever. I really enjoyed the style of your voiceover, it was informative while also being super casual and enjoyable to listen to. I really think more people need to see your channel, you do amazing work! How are you filming this footage? It looks incredible!

Fascinating to see so many species coexisting in the same stand of trees, but that’s what what it takes to survive in the Namib! Great capture Rob!

I love it. I leave a portion of my yard untouched for that reason. Allow the native plants to take over. Wildlife depends on those plants. And leave some piles of dead wood. Habitat for rabbits, birds, insects, fungi, etc. It doesn't take much effort to help support nature. Sometimes the best thing you can do is nothing at all.
@lanialost1320 Жыл бұрын
You're spot on about leaving wood piles. Also, large "nursery" logs amongst the plantings are visually beautiful to look at, and end up teeming with insects and providing shelter for ground burrowing creatures. Large rocks, boulders and stepping stones interspersed also provide habitat underneath them as well as visual interest.

Love your channel Rob, very much the vibe I am going for in my Animal School. You have a brilliant way of presenting and thank you for focusing on important places like the leaf litter and the verges. Great stuff, can’t wait to see more of your videos.

Those are early purple orchids! Probably our 2nd or 3rd most common orchid but its always a sign of a special habitat when you see one, and seeing any type of orchid is a treat these days. But to see this many is a rare display indeed. They are typically woodland orchids so it makes sense that they grow in the partially shaded areas.
