For some reason my bobbin thread has begun to catch on the cutting mechanism while I am sewing. It sews along just fine until I stop and try to use the cutter and then I can see the threads where they are caught. I watched your video showing how to replace the cutter just to become familiar with its parts. The thread is catching between the cutter case and the 'u' shaped case that envelopes the cutter case. Needless to say the cutter will not work when this happens, and I must remove the plate and bobbin and reach in with tweezers to remove the caught threads. I'm at a loss as to what to do, because I'm not sure that I would know what to do if I went through the process of taking the case apart and accessing the cutter box mechanism. Everything looks fine and I can't see how the bobbin thread is being pulled in. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you!

Sounds like your cutting mechanism is bent and not returning to the resting position properly.

why is it so noisy?

Sergers tend to be more noisy than a conventional straight stitch machine because all of the exposed moving parts. They also need to be oiled more often.

Roxanne you are amazing!!! I'm just starting this sewing journey on the Quantum 9960 at the young age of 64 and oh boy did I need this help. Someone on a FB group recommended your video's and soooo glad she did. My hems and collars DRIVE me crazy to the point of throwing in the towel. Everyone says how relaxing sewing is to me it just throws my anxiety out the ceiling. Your video's are calming, thoro!!!!!!ugh and helpful. No idea about using stabilizer for the hems. Can't thank you enough!! 👍

Thank you so much for making these videos! They are so helpful, more so than the manual. I am having a hard time inserting the quilting bar into the hole of the shank(?). It just doesnt fit and Im afraid to force it. It doesn't glide easily into the hole like your video shows. Any suggestions?

It's a tight fit and needs to be pushed through gently.

Hi Roxanne. The magnetic seam guide listing on Amazon says not recommended for computerized sewing machines. Have you found it safe with the Quantum Stylist 9960? Thank you.
@RoxanneStitches2 ай бұрын
The magnetic seam guide is designed to be placed on the needle plate which isn't near the electronics of the machine. It's perfectly safe when used as mentioned.

Hello, I have a query. I understand that Singer 9960 doesn't do embroidery monograms filled up with stitches to be bold. Can we use the appliqué method instead? For example to draw the monogram on a fabric, cut it, use the interface to iron it on another fabric and then stitch around the edge of the monogram to secure the monogram appliqué. Can we do this with 9960? Thank you for your help.

At the beginning, the machine with the graphic is the new machine, no graphic is old machine. But at time stamp 1:48 you say the one in the back is your original and the one in the front is the newer 2020 model. So I'm assuming, based on your blog, Secret History of... that no graphics is older, with graphics is newer. Correct?
@RoxanneStitches5 ай бұрын
The original machines had no graphics on the front. I never owned that machine. Both of the machines in this video are newer machines.
