When you see through the normal people POV, the player managed to hold a fucking DEMIGOD, the fucking first darkspawn and a fucking very high mage, almost alone , while they escaped,. Oh and the demigod also had a fucking HIGH DRAGON. Oh and you also commanded an avalanche to take down 7/8 of the darkspawn army. And with all that, kinda 3/4 of alll people escaped unscathed and you are kinda in one place too. No wonder they really do consider you the fucking Avatar of Andraste by this point.

I know I am not alone in thinking this but this song actually got me to enjoy it a ton even knowing it a religious chant/song but the way the music director(or who ever made this song/chant) made this tugged me into the game like I was there in that moment and made me actually feel hopeful for religion and the people who needed it’s guidance in their darkest days now and to come. Mind you this is coming from an agnostic perspective that doesn’t feel welcome in any holy place I have set foot in to try to feel a religious sense or spark. This one song actually made me feel something I never could feel before. Faith and belonging in said faith. This song gives me the same feelings of hope and a sense of haunting comfort that another video game song gave me and still does to this day which is The elf song tavern theme from Baulder’s Gate Dark Alliance 1.

Leandra's death hit me the hardest. Carver/Bethany at the beginning was at least heroic and you can prevent their deaths later in the game. But the fact that Leandra was murdered due to no fault of her own by a random serial killer (and there's no way for you to save her) was painful.

I never felt so engaged and pulled into a game such as this. I honestly felt a tear when i saw refugees coming out to sing and my throat swells when i see actual guards/ warriors knight's kneeling before me. All there hopes and survival were riding on me. Their chants radiate before me and quite honestly it fitted so well in the next scene where they properly deemed me leader. How could anyone say no to a heartwarming scene where I'm literally scene as their only hope. "I am the inquisition" is what i said once i took the sword.

I think I genuinely was only emotionally ever hit hard twice by music in games. Once was Disco Elysium, the other was this. I still find it hard not to well up. The defiant hope is what defines humanity for me.

I harbor a genuine longing to reconnect with any aspect of this game... My affection for it remains unwavering.

This scene still manages to get me a little verklempt. For me, it’s Cullen that really sells it. You can see the man is just on his last legs, and leans into his faith for comfort.

Whenever I have a bad day and nothing goes right, I always watch this scene to remind me it's not hopeless.

The first credits song makes me think of the party. With the part "I love you so much I'm gonna let you kill me" referring to Hawke's romance option.

When despair sets in, and all seems lost, this song can restore hope to even real life concerns. It's also just plain beautiful and I love to sing along.
