I have mma gloves at the moment but soon as I can afford em I’m going to get better gloves for the bag and wraps of course but I’m starting out, wasn’t sure what type of gloves to get so I got mma but good to know boxing gloves are better for the bag and less damaging to your hands

Is this good for short LEO’s. I’m 5’7, how effective could this be for subjects who are over 5’10 to 6 foot tall dudes 🤣
@SamirSeifАй бұрын
Actually this is a great question and comes up often. I have a video and I believe my example subject is over 6’4 and 300lbs. I show the modifications, because as you rightly note you will have no leverage and it will turn out real bad. I have a modification that fixes this. If I can track it down I’ll post the link for you.

As a PCO i use similar techniques but the C+R instructors get upset and tell me not to use these techniques!
@SamirSeif2 ай бұрын
What is their reasoning for telling you not to use these techniques?
@iiparachuteregiment88002 ай бұрын
@SamirSeif They had no reason, but it attracted Lot of attention from other students wanted learn this. So they failed me twice just to make an example of me. The next C+R is in July which I know they going to fail me. The C+R instructors are telling other students that these techniques are BS as I failed

My mother would pick on me until I "talked back" & then she would use all of her strength & do this to me. It was a regular occurance that she made my lips swell up. I didn't understand & wondered why my front tooth died & required a root canal at 19.

Can you explain why the "transport lock" is not effective unless it was the 1970s?
@SamirSeif2 ай бұрын
More of an expression of the evolution of our knowledge. Rotation brings greater shearing force on the wrist then flexion. Rotation also cuts off access to flexors and extensors. Not to say that transport lock with applied knowledge, experience and application of “ever concentric circling force “ is not effective. It’s just not as effective with bigger, badder, greater skilled subjects of the present day. As for the hammer lock, cutting off at the elbow, cuts them off to bicep/triceps access. Cupping behind the shoulder does not. 1970’s was more hyperbole on my part, to be clear of how far we have come.

I noticed your @name. I trained under Master Robert Doiron who led a chapter under (RIP) Maha Guru Brian “ Buzz” Smith back in the mid 80’s. Do you train kuntaw?
@MaharlikaAWA2 ай бұрын
@@SamirSeif no I do not trained in that style. I do Taekwondo, MMA, Kali, and Jiu Jitsu.
@MaharlikaAWA2 ай бұрын
@@SamirSeif okay I'm going to have to test your theories out on someone to see how they move. I just know that in my experience I have used the whole shoulder lock and even using two hands to control their body better than if I control further away on their arm.
@MaharlikaAWA2 ай бұрын
@@SamirSeif Okay I tested your teaching on a fellow bouncer. No we are not huge guys or anything, just average security types. I believe you are correct and the position at the elbow is stronger to hold them and makes them feel more restricted than on the shoulder. I also tried out your wrist lock hold and compared the gooseneck, 70's variation as you say, with turning the fingers inward as you show on the video. While I think the gooseneck is still good and causes a lot of pain, you are correct that the fingers turning toward the person is actually tighter and stronger of a hold. You can still cause wrist and tendon pain with it. Thank you for this video! I will now use this stuff and I taught it to the other bouncer and we will use these techniques if necessary.

Hey Samir! I have a question. I train boxing but I was thinking of buying mma gloves to train on the heavy bag to correct my punching technique. To make sure my wrists and knuckles are aligned and to condition my hands with thinner padding. What mma gloves do you recommend me buying? Also what gloves are you wearing in this video. How good are those?

We have an "off" button a half inch below the earlobe on each side of the head. When they get stuck, the poor patient usually becomes emotional and has uncontrollable anger, so you have to help them get the button un-stuck.
