How can someone do a stream and just ignore what is being said in the state of play? Right at the beginning the presenter said "We will be showing you in game game play, but first here is a cinematic introducing some of the characters in the universe" JP "Where's the game play? Is anyone interested in cinematics?" It's annoying sometimes. And yes I like Cinematic trailers, some of the best animations I've seen are in gaming cinematic trailers. Try watching The knights of the old republic mmo trailers.. better than everything else in star wars.

Very easy: The last decade - the best games have mostly been Indie titles. Yes some of them have been bought by studios and are at that point not indies anymore - but there is LITERALLY no reason to think that games will be worse in 10 years! These people need to remember that PoE was an Indie, Rimworld, Terraria, Vampire Survivor is literally a category now, Palworld, Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord, PUBG, DayZ, EFT, No Mans Sky... like literally the list goes on and on and on. All of these game are - or were - Indie games - and they are LITERALLY what is pushing the games industry forward! Who the hell cares if we get Madden 2050 or Battlefield "YetAnotherReplica"? I sure as hell don't! Maybe the death of the AAA sector will actually be a positive thing - where we go back to a time where people made games out of passion - and not just to exploit another piece of live service BS!

Larian Studios is not publicly traded. They do not need to prioritize increased profits. That is why they can take the time. There is no quarterly financial report pushing for a new "revenue generator" to be released. There is no legal obligation to be more profitable than last year. Larian makes great games, because they can focus on making games, not on making bank.

I was super excited for Concord until they mentioned it's a 5v5 shooter.

I was just reading the book made by DARQ's developer. The term 'vertical slice' was an interesting concept. For those who dont know: A vertical slice is a small segment of your game that is well fleshed out. At least to rhenpoint wyere a user can have a curated rxperience to what the intended end product will be. Most of the time you see gameplay footage of a game super early on that seems well polished for being 'alpha' youre probably looking at a vertical slice. You are taking a small portion of the game that is to be a good example of the games entirety and polishing it up to woo people/publishers/journalists.

With AI you can tell stories in video games that would be IMPOSSIBLE to do with human writers. You can have a game where the story adapts and respons to ANY input from the gamer. That's not something feasible with just writing infinite amount of code.

The "preorder for x days early access" model is scummy because if you think about it, it isn't actually giving you early access - it's an artificial delay for everyone else that pays the regular price. That's what makes it understandably frustrating for many people

Zeke is right. The v rising doorways used to be arches, but aren't anymore. Not sure why that was changed. Probably to reduce clipping of cosmetics.

Pretty sure the interior arches were removed in Vrising when multi story building was added. I miss them too.
