BMW F800GT with Rotax engine 90hp, 213kg wet and 90NM at 5800rpm - even today there is on bike on the market with better stats ! fuel economy is like 500cc.

yes, there are but its a great value package. Comfort and quality are top, can even repair stuff on your own. I like my bike, but of course there is always the greed for more power :)

This is one of the most underrated bikes ever made. It's 800cc with 85bhp, amazing consumption at around 4.5 litres/100 kms, great comfort on long distance because of the upper body position, the maintenance is not very often and is reasonably priced, the belt can be changed at every 60,000 kilometers or more, it is a bulletproof engine that can easily surpass 120,000 kilometers and the best part is that you can find one as second hand for very low money

I bought a 20000km bmw f800gs. At wat mileage should I be worrying about the cam chain and/ or cam chain tensioner? Obviously regular maintenance will be done. I want to keep the machine for a long time.

Advertised for the newer models is 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. I don’t see why people really care about accelerating extremely fast on a bike made for offroading, trails etc. When you’re riding on wet, maybe snowy or other adverse conditions a fast acceleration isn’t a good thing at all and unless it’s an expensive bike with traction control technologies you’ll be on the ground. 5.9 0-60 is plenty good for me

These bikes aren’t made for speed, they’re made to be an economic commuter with enough guts to get you around. 70-80mpg is amazing and half the fun of riding is just cruising.

True this. Considering one of these just to ride to Nordkapplateauet (most northeren part of EU i guess :D) Would save like 400 EUR on gas just on that single trip compared to my zx10r.

My 48hp honda nc 700x does 170kmh top speed on flat road. But that doesnt matter because you need to deduct about at least 7% from the speedometer. When my dash showed 180 it was around upwards of 165 on gps.
