are the aph-2 the same as the aph-1 from the 80's (or the custom shop aph-1 by MJ) or are the aph-1 from the 80's still closer to the aph-1? What are the differences between these three sets? Or they are 3 different pickups ?

Single coils are trash because they create excessive hum when you put even the slightest amount of gain on them.

WDM didn't just go up and down scales to invent solos/rhythm. The guy actually wrote poetry/told a story with strings, you can't teach that.

I actually shook WDM's hand at an autograph signing, at a Peaches in 1991. I told him he was the best, he just smiled, and chucked a little. He had sunglasses on. Robin gave me a dirty look. Sorry Robbin, I meant no disrespect, RIP.

I actually met Ratt at a Peaches Record store in Palm Harbor Florida in 1991. I told Warren he was the best and shook his hand. Robbin gave me a dirty look when it came turn to get his autograph. Sorry Robin [RIP] , I meant no disrespect.

@dannyllerenatv86355 күн бұрын
I think these really shine in positions 2 and 4, which has to be amongst the best I've heard in stacked pups and under a lot of gain.

How about ya shut up and actually let people hear the pickups being played instead of the sound of your own voice
@l1nkie5 күн бұрын
These sound very plain tbh. I don’t hear any country, just another plain blues pickup. Given they have have 2 coils to be noiseless, they’re just humbuckers in disguise, so the way they sound then makes sense. It’s trying to be a jack of all trades, but it’s just a master of none. Kind of disappointing tbh. Wish I could hear more but there was so much talking/pandering, prob to hide that fact.
@l1nkie5 күн бұрын
Also, he said country is more in line with modern rock? Did you mean to say *Pop?*
@dannyllerenatv86355 күн бұрын
Yeah that's one of the tradeoffs of stacked pups, they have a different feel and compression to them than true singles. However, I will say, positions 2 and 4 do sound really good on these pups and they do sound pretty good with gain as well. I myself prefer true singles, but these might do a thing with a lot of gain if you want something different.

Imagine if WDM was in Dokken and George Lynch was in Ratt - even from back in the day. I think Warren's personality and playing would have been better suited for Dokken.
