are the aph-2 the same as the aph-1 from the 80's (or the custom shop aph-1 by MJ) or are the aph-1 from the 80's still closer to the aph-1? What are the differences between these three sets? Or they are 3 different pickups ?

I think these really shine in positions 2 and 4, which has to be amongst the best I've heard in stacked pups and under a lot of gain.

I have them in my Jackson monarch love the bridge sound but neck not a fan off definitely prefer the emg 60 in the neck

These sound very plain tbh. I don’t hear any country, just another plain blues pickup. Given they have have 2 coils to be noiseless, they’re just humbuckers in disguise, so the way they sound then makes sense. It’s trying to be a jack of all trades, but it’s just a master of none. Kind of disappointing tbh. Wish I could hear more but there was so much talking/pandering, prob to hide that fact.

Imagine if WDM was in Dokken and George Lynch was in Ratt - even from back in the day. I think Warren's personality and playing would have been better suited for Dokken.
