I came here because I wanted to clearly understand William deMille's short story Ruthless: "It was his special closet, with a spring lock and in it he kept guns, ammunition, fishing-rods, tackle, and liquor. Not even his wife was allowed to have a key, for Judson Webb loved his personal possessions and felt a sense of deep outrage if they were touched by any hand but his own." What is spring lock, I wanted to know. Watching your video I understand that a spring lock can be opened, and that's what happened in this story. Thank you.

How much do you use ? I am searching everywhere and no one tells you in ml. On the can they just say put a 3 inch circle and 1/2 inch thick bondo and a 3 inch strip of hardener. Other places say to use 1.5% to 2.5% hardener by weight. I just want to know for the EM Bondo 265C with a tube of red hardener 78 grams. The bondo is 115.82 ml which is about 4 fluid oz. So how many ml of hardener to use ? My hardener is coming out like a liquid , even after I tried to knead the tube. So I need to know the ml. I would prefer to put the hardener in a small pneumatic tube to get the exact amount out. Just like the epoxy you buy at the dollar store.
@absupplynet

How much in mli cannot say. You will need to experiment as this ratio is all about "feel" and preference. I like slightly more hardener as it sets up faster. Experiment and determine the best rstion for yourself. This is how to best determine the ratio.

Do not attempt to field hobble this floor closer as your proposed methods will not work. Use a "pivot conversion": absupply.net/searchfast.aspx?KeyWords=national+door+controls or I can sell you a dummy floor closer body or you can send us your unit for conversion into a dummy.

100% safe is hard to say. Perhaps consider another mirror mount, appropriate for the material thickness and the wall type.

@absupplynet Prison locksmith. I've only been doing it for a year. I like building locks, and I really enjoy playing with the high security stuff. Teaching myself the right way to service Moguls and Emharts without having anyone there to show me has been a really fun challenge. I need to learn more about commercial hardware & doors. My facility is aging. A few door frames are a plague and need replaced, but nobody in the maintenance crew knows how to do the work, and the budget won't pay for an outside contractor to do it. I've already tried to hire out the work.

@@craigslitzer4857 I have an ASSA mogul in my lock collection and it is a "big puppy". I can help with the hollow metal doors & frames and if you can learn 2" mortise cylinders, you can learn hollow metal.
@craigslitzer4857
@craigslitzer4857 25 күн бұрын
@absupplynet Decoding the key bittings, writing out the pinning chart, and building a brand new Mogul that engages the master ring properly instead of single shear line master keying is such a good feeling. I only get to build a couple new ones in a year. Most are refurbished from the bones of dead cylinders. The normal door mortise locks are more complicated than the Mogul mortise locks I've taken apart so far. Lever locks even simpler than that. I don't doubt I could learn hollow metal. Finding the right place to look for the information has been the hardest part thus far. With the locks, I can tinker a little at a time until I see the patterns. Replacing a door frame isn't something you can tinker with, especially in a prison setting. You need as much knowledge going into it as possible so you can bring it back online in a timely fashion.

Thanks for the video. At the end, you mentioned that this could theoretically be done as a double cylinder setup, then you said that would never be needed.
