Seems tabla players put something on their fingers to make this sound while rubbing over the drum skin when playing. This slightly squeaking sound. What is the secret? I've been trying this for a long time but cannot manage it.

All your instruments are a bit more expensive, but I both make in a good quality. I was buying yesterday a Sitar, which cams directly from India 50 years ago to Costa Rica. First, I was mad about the lousy quality finish - but after checking photos in different web-sides, like Amazon, etc. I figured out: all these instruments there have the same quality standard. The most costly as well. WELL - I will finish the instrument a bit for better - but maybe I'm destroying the flair of the Indian handmade...

Paul and co no longer the name as they used to be only ones to import valuable reeds. There are now many great harmoniums better than Paul and co. I can get similar one for 120k rupees at my door. They once solved something which is now readily available. I rather have a dsr scale changer with valuakad or one of those old hard to find reeds anytime.

I recently paid $125.00 for a box tanpura which took very long to come from India. The it was really well packed, but when I got it opened, the bridge was not attached and was lying upside down under the loose strings. Also it was some kind of wood, not like the white surface that creates the buzz! When I set up the bridge and began to tune her up, as soon as I put some tension on the strings, the whole bridge exploded into two pieces! I actually had sold some gear hoping to be able to get an inexpensive Tanpura to back up my electric sitar on recordings! Now I have a pile of useless junk for my money! I'm PISSED! BIG TIME!! I Don't like being ripped off.
